Its not a car to keep for ever, just something to tick off the bucket list, that also has the huge benefit of being (Rather rapid) transport.

You can indulge in your bucket list fantasies, and even sell the normal day to day car saving money in the process. When finished, sell it on again.

Plus, you will be home faster / get to the diy store faster / <insert whatever white lie here>

Nothing can, or will ever top the RS6 for sheer top trump winning, straight (or curved) road pace or stealth. It is the ultimate. Coming down from this dizzy height of perfection was always going to be bumpy. The C5 RS6 was poorly designed and unreliable, and the C7 has more tech, but also has stupid stop start gubbins and less tuning potential. Plus its 'only' a 4.0 V8... and only comes in a hearse configuration :D

So, this Audi I've eyeballed is not better than the C6 RS6. Nothing is. But its not as much of a bump down as I was braced for +++

The C5 was 450 bhp with 580 nm.

The C6 stock was 571 bhp with 680 nm.

This is 709 bhp with 1011 nm, and is only a software remap. They can apparently go much faster.

So, if you thought the C6 was quicker compared to your C5, this is that same power increase again, but with 4+ times the increase in torque. :D

And that is why when you overtake, you *have* to hold on, or the steering wheel leaves you behind as you sink into the seat. That really caught me out driving away from MRC.... ;)

For me, the body looks better as a saloon, its lighter, faster, more exclusive and guaranteed to be 3G (Try finding a 3G Avant, very few and far between)

If I get interest at 28K I'll honour it, but my plan is to go see this other motor tomorrow. If the p/x is near enough the 28 I'm seeking, it'll go p/x purely to make my cash flow easier and failing that I'll finance the new car, resume the 30K price on the RS and await the warmer weather to move it on. It has all the usual RS6 issues taken care of, and a warranty for any new ones, so I'm pretty happy the first serious viewer will snap it up +++

It seems people are quite attached to theirs wallets these days

Interesting.

You can visit 5 different sites, and get 5 different prices. Its very difficult to value the exotics, as things like the type of service history / warranty / mileage / spec can be massive factors, where age and number of owners rarely is.

Its a niche market. Patience will eventually pay off, but I don't have much of that.... ;)

Same here, patience is one of the assests I don't have :-)
