As the D4 has been parked on my drive for weeks, thought I'd take it for a run and use some of the fuel sat in it.
Took the time to play with the green menu whilst the adaptive cruise was doing most of the driving... +++ Found this menu option (highlighted) which was on. Set it off, rebooted and it al burst into life. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467357403 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467357403 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467357403 So, all working perfectly now :D 2G is working ok - if you are motorway speeds and zoomed in quite close, it stutters a bit. 3G would definitely help there, as it would when my phone is tethered and decides to do app updates , but overall it works very well. I wouldn't be bothered enough to need to upgrade to 3G. Best value for money A8 upgrade I ever did. - £0 ;) |
my thoughts exactly, the cost of 3g against the benefits of a lightly smoother screen dont add up
glad you got it working, its nice to have all the options available has there been any calls on the advert to sell or have you reconsidered |

I have updated firmware to K900 and installed new maps. I have a Plusnet data sim in the dash, which I can connect to as a hotspot and Audi Connect works. I have the option of Google in the nav settings but it is greyed out. I can select it but nothing happens. Reading elsewhere I have tried a reinstall of the MMI firmware but that doesn't work presumably as there is nothing to update. I don't have vcds but do have the hidden green menu activated. Has anyone had similar and resolved?

Hi,
I have or should say had Google Earth working in my 2015 D4 from day 1, however this morning it stopped working. Normally nav starts off in 3D mode then flips to Google Earth maps after a minute or two, however got a message saying that Google Earth was restarting and did I want to revert to standard maps or continue with Google Earth. I selected Yes to continue with Google Earth and got a splash screen, as in IT’s post above showing the Google Earth logo and either please wait or restarting. It stayed for the 35 minute drive to work, and had exactly the same experience coming home for an hour’s journey. Nav is still fully functioning and showing ok in the display between the dials, and if I hit the “back” button, it immediately reverts to the 3D maps. No settings have changed my side. Any ideas? Cheers Mark |
