Sorry Chaps.
Even though I said it was not possible I was still hoping that I'd be able to finnangle something, but all has failed. Called out on an emergency run to Bristol Airport this afternoon, taking a bus from Gordano services through the lanes to the airport is not much fun. And have to cover three jobs tomorrow. I'll not be fit to walk down our garden path on Monday. Have a bloodie good meet, plenty tongue loosening liquid and grand food. Needless to say I am jealous. |
Still on for tomorrow, will leave Dorset quiet early and make my way to Devon using the incredibly bad A35 to Honiton before heading towards Exeter.
|
Mike and myself will both head over there for 9-9:30am 👍🏼
|
I'm hoping to leave Weston at around 10am so should arrive by about 11.30.

Hi all - Romping Reporter here!! +++
Well it was great to see everyone that could make it yesterday - and thanks again to MikkiJayne for hosting this meet at her workshop, we are now all very jealous! :D We had a great time tinkering with cars and inspecting the undersides of them all on the ramps and generally eating cake and drinking coffee (well what was left after CtL (your raving reporter) had finished most things off) :p We had a gentle cruise to the Waie Inn nearby where we chanced upon a D4 and so decided to "park around it" to make it feel at home. Then a cruise back to the workshop where more tinkering and inspecting took place as well as "ooh-ing and ahh-ing" at the cleanliness of MikkiJaynes S8 Engine Bay The only downside for me was trying to avoid a closure of the M5 in the afternoon to get home!! Bring on the next meet in a couple of weeks in Post Solent and Beaulieu National Motor Museum - who's coming?? :yippee: |
Great photos of what looked like a great mini meet +++
Who's is the grey S8 with the 18" Avus? It looks absolutely mint  |
That S8 belongs to MikkiJayne
The engine bay was spotless. |
I noticed that in every picture that he was in, Mike was tilting somewhat.
But his car, unlike in Ireland, seemed straight. Did it have a broken spring, or some other problem (weight of luggage..... )? |
Great photos!
I was really disappointed I couldn't attend but apparently post holiday admin is more important than a car meet! ...... although I am secretly relieved I didn't have to suffer the RTN journey/M5 closure, the roads around WsM were bedlam all day. |
