I've enjoyed reading this thread. I'm in a similar position myself in Ireland. Considering an S8 but I'm still not 100% - it might be the heart ruling over the head. Fortunately for you there are at least a few options in the UK. Only one available over here at the moment for €16k (125k miles). Seems high. Will see how it goes. Good luck with your search. Keep us posted how you get on!

best of luck
@bemak - best of luck my friend.
I must say the support on this forum is remarkable. Ive decided to stick to a V8 but unfortunately with the D2 S8 no longer supported by Audi the parts gamble isnt one I want to gamble with. Having two classic BMWs I can get pretty much any part (probably due to the sheer volume of sales). Decided to go for a BMW E90 M3, now looking for one that isn't ragged or silverstone blue (silver). wish everyone here a happy new year and good luck! |
Have you heard of Audi Tradition? It's the same thing as BMW Group classics, most parts are available. Going to local audi dealer is not the way unfortunately.
Audi tradition have an online shop too: https://shops.audi.com/en_GB/web/tra...8-d2-1994-2003 |

I've seen posts on other Audi forums confirming that private UK buyers can now purchase directly. And of course our commercial sponsors have been able to do so for a considerable while, with the inevitable additional double-shipping and handling overheads. |

Being the sceptical type, I tested it and indeed at the checkout, when choosing Great Britain (except Northern Ireland), you can't go any further without filling in the EORI field with a valid EORI number. As mentioned by Mike, anyone struggling to get any Tradition parts (after checking with our sponsors of course), are more than welcome to contact me as a second option and I'll see if I can help. |

Thanks Dean (and Paul). Interesting that as the comments I've seen online implied you didn't need an EORI if you were an individual purchasing for private use and that AT allowed that.
Though you can supposedly easily acquire a GB EORI online for no charge as an individual or sole trader. And you don't need to be VAT registered. I don't need anything from Tradition at present otherwise I might give it a go as: Quote:

BTW For anyone thinking of buying from Audi Tradition, do it soon as their website mentions prices increasing by 6% from 1st February. |

When I contacted them they specifically said "dealer", as in a "parts dealer".
But I don't know whether they check on that or not. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1672770080 As it happens, I have an EORI for my UK business and when I enter it you still get this message: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1672769619 This is the exact result I got lost year when I was discussing it with another forum member. Maybe there is a way? But I've not found one myself and would be interested to know if anyone has a workaround. |
