My Other Car.....
Until a year ago, I wouldn't have been seen in a BMW.....then I drove one....and was smitten  I do love V8s, and apart from my P38 Range Rover (owned for 6 years and very much loved, now sold) and my S8 (owned since 2004), this Beemer is the love of my life......its an X5 4.8is and has a list of options rarely seen, including the fab auxiliary heating Webasto normally found only on diesels.....luckily, being a BMW, its still under warranty, as its oil cooler popped its clogs just before Xmas. All sorted within 2 days; brilliant service from Mondial / BMW Emergency and the dealers and she's back home.....+++ I absolutely love driving her, she's awesome.

Oil cooler went on the 335D to, agree BMW assist are quite good.
Note S8 to the rescue in the background. http://i665.photobucket.com/albums/v...8/d52c08d5.jpg |
My S8 came to the rescue too, only to die on me on a cold, dark night :-( while the Beemer was in Intensive Care ...... S8 safely home waiting a visit from the S8 Wizard now +++
Here's a pic of the X5 with winter wheels (18" OEM BMW with Vredestein Wintrac tyres) in temps of -14C, just before the oil cooler popped :-( the Webasto had been running about 25 minutes but the locks were still forzen shut and needed lots of lock deicer that day...... http://i988.photobucket.com/albums/a...ssnowtyres.jpg |
Any pics of the S8? Who have you got coming around to fix it? Mines broken to, walking a lot more now! :(

Haven't collected it yet Mike, water temp hit 100 after a run. Looks like it's just a temp sender though so haven't been up to collect it yet.
Did get offered a really good deal on a brand new White 1 Series which I have pondered over as the warranty/free servicing pack appealed but didn't go for it in the end. Tempted? Very. |
I had a 1-er as a loaner when the X5 was at the dealer a while back - its a hooligan around corners!!! I must admit, it was fun to drive!

I've had 3 1 Series loners, 118D, 120D x2. They are fantastic driving and fairly solid cars. The 118D only had 8 miles on it, made them drop
it at my house when the Xenons completely failed on the 335D in the middle of the night! |
I rather like the X6, but I seem to be alone in that opinion as everyone else I mention it to (including the misses) seems to hate them! :-(
