I'm with daz.g on this one, the garage premises should have some sort of insurance cover, as I believe that they have a duty of care toward the customer, not just for the work carried out, but for the responsibility of your property whilst on thier premises.
Good luck Amar. |

Can we all keep scanning eBay in the meantime looking for bits for sale. Amar did you still have the 9.5 x 20 wheels with the Michelins fitted on the car? If so they'll stick out like a sore thumb if someone tries to sell them. Let us know all the other stand out items which were fitted to the car and we can keep watch. |
Good point Reffro.....
My Ear's still to the ground on this one..... thieving scum... |
I'm not sure, I did mention to Ben that I was worried the car was out there with no insurance and he said not to and it would be covered under his.
Been missing for some time now, getting very depressed. The blue one won't work without the head from the green one either you see. It makes my stomach churn to think I may never see it or a penny again, its a horrible feeling not to mention the blue one has also had to be left abandoned on the drive so that's out of use as I needed the head from the green one for it to work again. Feel like just going into hibernation somewhere but managed to drag myself into work for a bit today. Ben had arranged for the S8 to be delivered to my house on Saturday. I had all the cleaning gear ready to give it a spruce up and was just about to order a cover to protect it from Nick (Tonupkid) on here. I'd rather not hear bad news like its been burnt out and/or the insurance won't cover it as holding on to that bit of hope is the only thing keeping me going. I had to sign a piece of paper today when the police came around to say 'I did not give anyone permission to steal my Audi S8' :( |
You put any posts up on other boards mate? (TSN/SRS Forum, etc)? You never know...
|
Have done so on SRS as I'd say that's the biggest Audi forum going and them guys have experience having cars getting stolen all the time, 800 or so views in 4/5 hours so they are aware. Got thrown a really big rope by a member to so lucky I did but can't say much here. Will speak to you guys in detail at Audi driver.

I seriously doubt ther'll be any burning out going on.....
Theres 2 main reasons why motors get torched: 1) Scummy thieves try really hard to bypass imobilisers etc and still fail to get it going, so they torch it either to cover their fingerprints or because they're just pi55ed at it 2) the same scum successfully steal it, race it round the back roads and when it eventually runs out of fuel / crashes they torch it to again cover their prints etc. Neither of these apply to you - For whatever reason, they wanted that car whole, and must have come prepared to tow it, not start it.... I guess there is a chance it was taken to order to create a ringer, to replace the body of a trashed D2 that for whatever reason isnt recorded and has a clean history, but the dumb sods dont realise thats no 'ordinary' green, so if they've taken it for that reason, even if they change the vins and plates, we'll all spot it a mile off.... We're all keeping an eye out, from all ends of the country, on Ebay, autotrader, pistonheads and everywhere else. If its going to pop up somewhere, you wont find a more dedicated team of diehard D2 fans anywhere who are looking out for it :( |
Very true Ian, I hope your right as I'd love to catch them so they can't do it to someone else.
I've just had the most advanced tracking device fitted to the other 8 now, no one will be able to breathe on it without my permission and if it even moves without the keys I'd/police would know in seconds & they won't be able to remove or find it easily at all. |

The insurance is atricky one here - I'm workign hard to come to some sort of conclusion.
There are set limits as to how long a car is allowed to sit dormant on site before you have to insure it separately and we've well passed that as she was dead on site for 4 months and as it was only outside as I couldn't push her on me own. I'm trying very hard with Allianz as we speak (which is hard as I don't work at AVP anymore) but AM really trying to get some sort of resolve here. I just can't belive it - the car's been sat waiting for collection for 4 months with no issue and it I had booked a recovery truck myself to move it while we were at ADI! Gutted doesn't come close! Rest assured Amar that if there's any way I can get the car covered for loss with them I will! I have put out feelers around the area as apparently 6 cars went missing in 8 hours from the area so SOMEONE must know - I have asked some very, erm, shall we say persuasive people to help find both the car and the pond life that took her! |
