A word of warning.
After 1.5 years 1 of HID lights stopped warning and is blowing fuse. I opened ballast and it has not been sealed properly so moisture got in and killed it. I bought a new one from e-bay one of those newer style 2 part ballast that has high voltage part separate and sealed in epoxy. I opened other part and that was not sealed all that well so I resealed it now and it is ready to go in car. I will also remove the still working one from car, open up to investigate, clean and dry if necessary and reseal to put back. I am also getting set for A6 and will open and reseal them before putting in car. |
I'm looking to replace the yellow sidelight bulb with an LED one, and the halogen main with a HID. I have Bi-Xenon's already, just these two bulbs spoil it with their yellow look.
Does anyone know what the side and main bulb types are, on Xenon Plus? |
You should not replace main beams with HID as they must have ability to flash but HID' take time to ignite and frequent turning on/off will wear them out soon that's why they were not HID's in first place

I'll get some ice-white items then. |
Hi. I run HID 8000k in the seperate Highbeam on my reflector headlamps with Xenon pluss. Those have been installed many years ago and works like a charm and no delay when flashing(do this several times s day due to stupid drivers in front of me). :D

Do you remember the bulb fitment for the main halogens? |
There are 2 types of bulb in the sidelight, but it's really easy to removeone to see what type you have. One is a push fit and the other an off-set bayonet bayonet. There are a couple of threads here on the topic if you run a search. I did the side lights on mine - I'll go look for the link....
