so many choices to make, I do love my d2 and when i consider how much work i have put into her i really do have second thoughts, i love the car only thing making me so angry with it and wanting to get rid of it is the water ingress that im getting at the moment and with winter just round the corner its going to be a misty car and i hate that, i will pay any one to solve it for me, but when i phone audi they say that they have never heard of this problem before and i must have spilled something with out knowing, well i dont spill 2l of water in there every dam day !!! need help with it really bad please, i have try'd all the usual suspects ect. i think it may be botangs hole or something similar, thought i'd fixed botangs hole but it must not have been that one, at a real loose end with this one

Dave I have been suffering from a leak via the air con unit which spills into the passenger footwell . Steve

Daviesbike.
I had the problem you had and I fixed it quite easily. See 'Scuttle drains' thread in the bodywork section. Take out your mats first. Dry them out and don't refit til after the cars stayed dry for a while. Do the scuttle drain under the bonnet. Take off your tranny tunnel side trims and do those drain tubes either side. (or maybe you've tried all this already??) |
Dave I've had my scuttle drains cleared aswell as the drains for the sunroof both drivers and passenger footwell were like fish ponds water problem now solved bone dry . The sunroof drains run down either front pillar they were split and rubbed through replaced and all ok

Any ideas regarding a damp rear offside carpet, fronts bone dry & scuttle drains fine - tested with a bucket of water...... sunroof drains seem fine too, when tested by a similar method ?

bone dry everywhere other than passenger foot well, cleared all the drains today with buckets and buckets of boiling water full of cilit bang degreser and its all flowing nicely but..
i did finally find botangs hole today after i filled one mistaking it for botangs hole some time ago, but im sure that was the correct hole this time and its now got more silicone in it than jordan's breasts, that im hoping with all toes and fingers crossed will sort it out just the task of drying it all out now |
