I've had a quote to replace the bearing now, £200 all in with the VAT. They have quoted the replacement bearing and 2 hours labour, not sure how that compares.

I paid £40 for genuine Audi bearing from e-bay(same on A6 as on PF A8) took the hub off myself and paid garage to press out and in bearing for £25 and then £50 for 4 wheel alignment. So £200 for all in does not seem too bad.
