Got a rare weekend free, so I got the CTEK plugged in as soon as I got home, can't wait to hear that V10 start tomorrow, 763PS, 2.99sec 0-60, 1021NM, and I'm sure it produces 550BHP or something stupid like that at about 3.5k RPM. First quattro I've driven that will light up all wheels in the wet, even at 50/60 MPH :D
Roll on tomorrow.

Who needs it wet..... Mine will light them up from a standstill dry. And that just shouldn't happen in an auto Quattro.... :p

The wet / cold is more 'interesting'.... I'm no stig, so I rely on the esp and if you have the balls not to back off the throttle just as it's getting interesting, it will deal with it and you'll outrun anything. Even those technically faster than you as they just won't be expecting it...

If I could park it up like you and enjoy it one in a blue moon I would. But it's too good for heavy motorway miles (which is mostly what I do), and too expensive an ornament when I also have other priorities.... So pleased I've had it though. It's an experience nothing else on 4 wheels comes close to.

I need something just a little bit more sensible, but did sit in a new tt last weekend whilst waiting for a salesman, and even despite my bulk, it was a lovely lovely place to be I have to say....

Right.

Been to see the car. Its a good car. Its an lost none of the charm of the older versions, and gained some nice features, so I'm fundamentally attracted to it.

However, its not been prepared to a very good standard imo. They're clearly cutting corners trying to retail it out on a budget. They've "fitted 4 brand new tyres" = they've fitted 3 of one brand I've never heard of, and one of a another brand I've never heard of, the latter of which looks like it was fitted with a crowbar by a monkey.

But, The rest of it is fine. A few marks consistent with mileage I guess, and it is indeed as loaded with factory options as my homework had suggested, a fact the (bloody annoying) salesman still has no idea about.

So, can I see my having this car. Yes. Am I *desperate* for it. No, not as much as I was, but I know now, having sampled a fully loaded one, nothing else will ever be good enough, so its this example, or none at all really. #bloodyannoying

The p/x was under par for where we needed to be. They have literally taken the model, and mileage and rung a few underwriters on it and come out with a number. Could have done that without driving to see them... No intention to retail it, not interested. Quote from the Sales Manager of 16 years "They do an RS6 Saloon?.." <sigh>

So, RS6 is now going to £27495, both on here, and publically. I can also accept debit / credit cards via a8parts, although subject to a 2% fee on credit cards....

If the other car sells from under me, I'll have to make yet another decision about what to do. Ho hum... ;)

Proof, if any was needed, that you need to sell a kidney and keep the RS6 if you want to raise funds

They sound like a bunch of fools, hope you get the deal you want Ian +++

I'm struggling to imagine what this car could be to make Ian want it so much over the RS6.
Really look forward to finding out what it is.

Downgrade people, downgrade.... Not sure I'm gonna see much cash back swapping into an SQ5 (!)

Stop trying to think of upgrades from the RS6, think more along the lines of compromises....

Its honestly not *that* exciting and if I don't get an easy sale of the RS6 shortly at this money then it all falls apart anyway and I'm 'stuck' with the RS6 for a bit. What a shame.... ;)

Ok, final reduction to 27K. Its one of the cheapest C6's out there now, and by far the cheapest 2010 model. I need to do or die on the S5 plan.

If there was anything wrong with it, I'd have chopped it in for the S5 by now, but knowing how bloody hard it was to find a decent one in the first place, I just can't accept handing it in like a some piece of waste for recycling.

If it were going to a good home, I would still consider an Audi p/x from a forum member if it makes it easier. And I still have the option of credit cards for those with more credit limit than they know what to do with +++

Getting very very very close to having this off you....just spent £1400 on front suspension stuff on mine though...grrrr.

Would probably have that S5 off you in 12 months time as well...

Two words really bugging me though: 'Avant' and 'sunroof'. Arrghhhh!

Genuine question - Why an avant ?

I've had a few people who seem to think that the wholly grail is the avant version, but I cant think of anything worse than 1000+ nm of torque, sharp brakes and handling and a shed load of crap in the boot that has nothing but thin air between me, and it. I'd go for it locked away secure every single time...

And, if the guy before wanted the avant, he presumably used it for carrying big loads, and after a while, these sort of boots look tired, no matter how careful folk are.

Does everybody really have that much kit to carry round with them these days ? +++
