I would’ve taken the brake guard off and clean and paint them whilst at it.

As would I normally.... but then my OCD kicks in and I don’t stop.... as much I am enjoying the A8, it’s a daily workhorse to be used... it’s to be maintained and improved but it’s not a restoration.

I sat looking at all 4 brake calipers, debating.... conjugating, battling with my inner demons.... the voices telling me that they are just a strip, shot blast, repaint and rebuild away from being perfect.... it’s like a drug..... but it is a slippery slope and the A8 is my daily....

All my cars and bikes are classed in the feminine.... as a she, but once there they need cosseting and making perfect.... hence it’s my A8.... not a she....

but doesn’t stop me clearing the years of crud, and maintaining and repairing.... it’s not a restoration

I do the discs as a matter of course, regardless of car.... always have. I can’t stand crusty bells.....

I’m unlucky as my SWMBO understands my demons and never stops me, which doesn’t help me haha

100% agree crusty discs really let down prestige cars. I think I will get the calipers done so will ask my mate if he can do the other bits too.
