Ok well the top team are out and about this weekend planning more detail of your forthcoming annual meet and checking everything out! :D
We are looking at such details as making sure Saturday's main activity will all work out and be fun for everyone, checking to see if we need to build any new Petrol Stations mid route for Darren and Guy. . . Ahem  Just a quick wee bump to make sure you have all made arrangements to attend and booked your accomodation etc and also to remind you that we are still looking for prizes to be donated for the event if anyone can help? ( any one not coming needs to donate double prizes!! ). :D |
I may be able to pop up for the Saturday but would not be able to stop over.
At least the drive over there is on some great twisty roads. I have a choice of 3 ways, the caravan route  , the A66  or the twisties where the bikers go :rockin: . Maybe i'll collect a hood ornament on my way like nearly happened to my wife many years ago. We were coming back from the lakes, and on one of the bridges, where you have a 90deg right followed by a 90deg left, a biker came over the bridge unable to take the second corner going straight across the front of the car (about 6ft in front). My wife bricked it, I got out to help him out and check he was fine, all he could think of when he finally dusted himself off was that he had knocked off his indicators again!!!! :respekt: |

Well guys n gals - CtL, DarrenJoe90 and myself have just spent a couple of days checking things out in the Lake District to ready things for the Annual Meet on the Friday/Saturday/Sunday of the June Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend, so here's a few teaser pics. +++
We've been to the Brackenrigg Inn (main pub meet point / accommodation) which has a stunning view from the car park - http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1333956281 We've also checked out the Knotts Mill Country Lodge just down the road which we stayed at this time. Its a B&B and at the moment still has rooms for the Meet Weekend but if you are not already booked then I would suggest that you book asap as they will get booked up fully soon for that weekend. It was so "rural" there that Mike even witnessed a lambing in the field right in front of his room! An alternative to this is the Pooley Bridge Inn that Notorius and his family are booked at. On Sunday we did some serious scouting for suitable roads for driving and/or our planned event . . . . Mmmm what fun! http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1333956281 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1333956281 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1333956281 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1333956281 Now if that doesn't attract you along I don't know what will!! :D Seriously though, the drives will not be quite as "extreme" as that for all but as you can see there is some stunning scenery. We managed to test the legs on our engines a tad too (I think I can safely say there are 2 more owners in the forum now who have been more than surprised at how well the A7 goes :p ) Timings and format to follow shortly . . . . |
Outstanding area and well chosen. Looking forward to it! (Not sure the other half is so sure about the "talking car B*ll*x" and, perhaps the twisty bits with life threatening drops.....)
Thanks for your efforts. +++ |
I'd reckognise those passes anywhere... +++
Stunning view when its cloudy even more stunning when its sunny - But - get very busy in summer months, so if poss, worth timing them early/late in the day or its passing place hell... ;) |
Envious! Much!!!
I've got the girls that weekend, so won't be able to make it....the good news is, the weekend before, I don't so I should be good for the German trip! +++ |

LOL Don't worry we were made aware of that particular issue first hand :p
Mike has a picture of a major blockage of cars at a passing place I'm sure that he'll post soon. . . :D I didnt even begin to explain what happened when Mike and Darren went off up a large hill and we had to call mountain rescue. . . . !!! ;) http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1333961551 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1333961551 . |
