Developed a misfire a few weeks ago, hoped it was coil packs or similar but no such luck. Broken flap(s) in the inlet manifold, new one required.
Not to worry, it'll be sorted properly +++ |

Still, having your baby injured and off the road is devastating. How much this will set you back?? |
I'll post an update when it's all sorted, costs, pics, as much info as I can share, it may be helpful to other forum members in future +++

Please do, still, not the best news.
Hope you get it back on the road soon, well, you will, but the first drive after not having the car for a while is just amazing, especially in A8 |
I'm certainly looking forward to getting it back Marcin, it'll be almost five weeks I've been without it. On the plus side, the wife's car has never been so clean ;)
I have done quite a bit of research into this particular problem and this is an example I found........... https://www.facebook.com/permalink.p...19875184700508 Grim reading indeed :-( |
M-A8, trying to keep the DIY thread on course, I thought I'll post my comment in here.
Still waiting on a redundancy date for the wife but we got a feeling it will be about the end of september. It also looks like she's going to take up to a 10k pay cut to get a job that she wants over a job for the money. We've spent the last 9 years of our relation missing so many family events, weekends together and christmases cause of her job. So she's looking at something a bit more sociable for us, 9-5 monday to friday style job. With this in mind I'm going to start doing extra work and building things for people again. I need to start building up the garage tools again since I don't have access to my friends or families any more. Got some bits to sell to help fund the lathe, pillar drill, band saw and such. Norretal, That's not a nice thing to be looking at. Is that what you think yours will need doing? |
Oh yeah, of course, sorry for posting it in your DIY thread, I will remove this in a minute :pint:
I hear you Scott and I know what you mean. My Mrs works all the weekends, most Bank Holidays, Christmas etc. plus she works midday/afternoon till very late :pint: No social life, little relationship life, a real pain, but she is doing some extra qualifications as we speak so hopefully it will all change this year :pint: You can have plenty of money but if you dont have who to spend them with its not worth it, you can't put the price on family time and time spent together, family/relationship should always comes first, and me and my Mrs we learned that the hard way in past couple of years :pint: Ron, this is a tragic picture. Just a misfire could mean that you were fairly lucky and nothing got inside the engine like on that picture, so it could be a good thing you having it done :pint: |
Marcin,
Good to see you back posting, hope things are getting better. I think its the season for 8's breaking down. My D3 also required the services of an AA recovery truck week before last, but it was all sorted in a couple of days by the main Audi dealer in Poole at no cost (lovely new set of brand new ignition coils). |
That's our thinking mate.
As long as we can survive and enjoy our lives. We would like to have loads of money to do what we want and can dream off but its pointless having all the money you can earn and no one to enjoy it with. Good luck to your wife mate, hope it works out for her and you. i'm currently stuck in a dead end IT job. I was going to start looking for something else but that's been put on hold till the wife is sorted out, then hopefully next year I'll start looking at new work for me. |
