H-M3, I would hold out for a newer version for that kind of money.
That one has a manufacture date of 2007 which can be seen on Photo 3.
eBay.de can be worth a look for this type of purchase.

Our sponsors also have one listed @ £299.99 which would be a reputable source and possibly offer some warranty for peace of mind.

* Edited - Mar 16 : to make more sense :o*

That's certainly an ECU with the right part number for an A8 with 2G MMI; you can see in the picture it has the yellow 'circuitboard' BT aerial and the purple connector to connect it to the shark fin aerial on the roof originally installed for Motorola ECUs. It is the BT ECU known as the 'RSAP' unit and identified by VCDS as 'BTA'. The more common BT unit, described and pictured in this thread, is identified by VCDS as 'Handyvorb2'.

Both BT ECUs have the same Bus connectors, but as described earlier in this thread, are not a straight replacement for the original Motorola ECUs. The Motorola ECUs have a blue connector, whereas the BT ECUs have a different black one. You need an adapter to connect the right pins in the ECU to the car's connector.

Despite what 'Joe2.0E' says, I'd be surprised if there were any much newer BTA ECUs freely available. The trouble is, because they're quite desirable, they hold their prices. :( [Unlike second-hand Motorola ones, which are freely available and probably worth about £30, despite what some sellers think].

Note: the latest firmware for both of these BT ECUs [the code that got most phones working ;)] is ONLY available on CD 2 of the 3CD 5570 set. Handyvorb2 level is 1130; BTA level is 1120.
