Front ABS sensor part number - which one is mine?
 

Hi,

I'm starting my search for a replacement OSF ABS sensor - but which part number am i looking for ? Vagcat seems to be showing a number of different ones...:Confused:

I'd check with our David - Seem to recall Frank was one of the early facelifts that still had the Preface style steel hubs, so likely his ABS sensors will be the pre facelift independent ones with no built in connections for the brake pad wearing etc, but I'm not 100% - I'm pretty sure he'll remember.... +++

That's exactly what the one on my PF A8 looked like, not sure what the FL ones look like as thankfully not had to change them on my S8.

its either the first one or the 2nd one Oli dependant on your wheel/disc size (see the detail) the last 2 are for the diesel and the LWB

I managed to get a new OEM front sensor for £55 off fleabay.

I remember Ben saying that when you put them back in, you shouldn't actually push them all the way in...

...does anyone have any guidance on this?

If anyone can come with a sensible answer that would be great. I just want to make sure i don't damage the sensor in any way.

I pushed mine in all the way if that helps :)... The problem you've got is that if it's not far enough in it doesn't work (as it were...).

Makes sense - i think i'll push mine in bit by bit and keep testing until it works.
