Wanted - a van :o)

All,

I after a van please. I would prefere a SWB T4 with up and over rear door and side door. Engine size dosen't matter but I would prefer tidy bodywork. Interior state dosen't matter, as long as it has an MOT.

I have a Grand, but would squeeze £1500.

I may take a caddy if I can't find a T4. T4 derrivitives are ok, Carrevel etc. I would also condider a LWB or Hi-Top.

If it had a tow hook it would be a bonus.

Thanks,
CtL

It made me laugh anyway.

Good luck with the van hunting Mike, but it's the wrong time of year to be trying to find a surf bum's van that cheap. I'll keep an eye out close to the beaches they come up now and again but for 1k might be pushing it. You never know your luck.

£1500 probably isn't going to get much of a T4. Due to their increase in popularity over the last few years amongst surfers, campers etc, even real sheds can fetch a grand. Might be worth a look on the VW T4 forum, there's still the odd bargain popping up on there:

If you want any tips on what to look out for, let me know.

I had my T4 for 5 years and 160k miles but sold it last year and got the S6. Now I'm after something bigger again and I've started kayaking again and want something with more room for getting changed inside without trashing the trim. I'd looked at T4's again but was put off by the high prices of poor examples and the difficulty in justifying paying £5K+ for something tidy that's still got starship mileage on it and very little in the way of goodies. I'm now looking at possibly getting a low mileage Jap import Nissan Largo and lpg'ing it.

When you have your T4 T25 Standard or High top, whatever VW Mike.
We should meet up. I can then test fit one of our Camper covers on it and for the price of your participation you can have the cover. Free, Gratis

Anyone else got a VW camper available around the Midlands to act as model for a free cover. PM me
