Another back garden building site

I've started driveway building. My little digger i bought last year has already proved it's self to be awesome but only came with 1 bucket @ 300mm wide. So i've been busy making digger buckets and stuff. Because the internet is awesome and that there are other nutters out there i have the instructions and sales lit for my little digger from the 80's. From that i now have the sizes of the original buckets 200, 300 i have, 400 and 600 wide, they all follow the same shape and as i already have an original i templated it to card.
I modelled the buckets in Inventor and sent the plate parts to a local company that cut it all on the laser for me. Then just a matter of welding it all up and splashing a bit of primer on them. Cad model http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467035065 600 wide bucket primed and ready to go http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467035569 Bucket fitted to the digger and getting dirty. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467035569 Something that wasn't available from new is a Ripper. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467036955 Now that took a bit more in the way welding as the main tine is 15mm thk and the rest 10mm a few hours and many multi runs later a test fit. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467036525 has been given a coat of primer since then and will take another. |

Dezzy. You should be done under the Trades Descriptions. Nothing here about your back garden building site. Its all about your digger buckets.
Anyway. Here, specially for you, is a ferry we enjoyed on ExplorA8tion Ireland. You got any pictures of that digger |

Built 1995 when i was just a boy, built a another one too called Shannon Breeze, in 2000 but i think she was slightly bigger. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467097691 I do have some digger pictures somewhere on my phone i'll dig them out. Attached is the sales lit for it and the brochure with some 1980's lady showing all the male builders that even she can do it. 1980's advertising eh. Although they should have used an 11 year old girl as my daughters are a dab had at digger driving and they love it. Anyone with young kids should have a small digger in the garden it's the rules. Last year we made a small ring out of hosepipe and hung it off the bucket on a string, pushed a stick in the ground and played hoop the stick? Not actually sure what the game is called, but it takes very controlled movements on the controls or your hoop ends up swinging all over the place. Garden pictures to follow Nick, sorry for misleading you it was never my intention. I had to make buckets and ripper before i make a mess of the garden. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467102727 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467102727 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467102727 |

 I'm glad my ferry has been put to good use, carrying 8's i mean. I'm sure it's proven to be of use before. That fella that's stood on the deck in the background of the last photo, did he get you looking for the golden rivit?

Woo look at that. I've never seen 2 ships i've built together, together since they left the yard. Those 2 would never have been seen together as they were built 3 or 4 years apart. I don't have any photos of those in build either or i'd have posted them up so you could see what they look like under the skin so to speak. |

Yes you could call Pic 7 the ICTI2 incident! . . . All will be revealed when your romping and raving reporters have finished writing their reports :D |
Dezzy, I asked the chap collecting the fare where she was built to which he responded "Bristol". I chewed this over, concluded no chance and suspected he could mean your yard, so I chased him down and he took me to the build sticker (so to speak). And there it was, Appledore. Lovely ship and they are keeping it nice and ship shape too +++
Thanks for the additional pictures. Someone asked me what your aim is with the garden. Silly bugg3r. I put him right. Your aim has been achieved... Digger |

In this picture you can see a couple ships in construction, in the foreground are bits, upside down (that's the way they're built) and in the background is a ship nearly complete that is sat in the dry dock, that ship i think was Toisa Conqueror a Offshore Supply Vessel (Del might know it) but it will be painted international orange rather than primer. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467185852 and this piccy is looking in the dry dock at a pair of sister ships in differing stages of build. The one on the right is more complete and will float out first, then the one on the left will float over onto the right side. When the tide goes out and the remaining water pumped out there is a slot in the dock for the parts of the next ship to be dropped in on the left side. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1467184231 The aim with that part of the garden is to make a drive. Now that i've accessorised the digger i'm good to go, although i could do with a little dumper now. |
Glad you explained what was going on in your garden. I thought you were re-creating the Battle of the Somme as a 100yr anniversary event.

So it's been a little while and was due to a little issue i ran into that was no job, no money no driveway. But taaa daaaa.
This is my little digger lifting it's self up, as it was suggested that such a "toy" like that probably couldn't do it. However it does give an idea of how much soil that little toy shifted. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1506439804 Looking the other way and the battle of the Somme debris has been cleared, nearly http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1506440210 Stood lower and the sleepers holding back the hardcore and extra steps i cast from an original to get to the new height http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1506440731 |
