And suddenly D4 S8's look kind of nice

I note the switch from a discreet black W12 saloon to a grey metallic S8 lol perhaps Audi are hoping they will sell a few more as a result! +++

D4 s8's were always good looking, well the facelift ones after the model in the trailer, don't like the pre face lift headlights with the Hyundai style led's in the headlights. :tuttut:

But it bugs me that they are rear wheel drive and not Quattro

Really!? I never knew that :eek2:

That'd be a total deal breaker for me.

I was expecting a clip of a car transporter at a filling station

I'm a bit out of touch with action movies, admittedly, but 'The Transporter', really!? What happened to the cool action movie titles of yesteryear?

Would 513bhp twist your arm? :p

The trailer looks ok so will probably go to the cinema when it's out +++

SWMBO will be disappointed Statham isn't in the new film.

Nope. Not unless I was buying it purely for track-day use.

Knowing that they're RWD, if I was in the market for a new S8, I'd rather spend the money on something that did have AWD, such as Tesla P85D even.

AWD is the main reason I own an S8 now; I wouldn't have bought it otherwise.

Sorry for the confusion, I'm talking about the TV show and movies, if you watch they quite often have the car drifting with the rear wheels spinning, in the real world we know the s8 to be Quattro.

But movies are always doing things wrong, rear wheel drive cars that should be four, four stroke motorbikes with two stroke engine noises dubbed over etc.

The wife hates watching movies and TV shows with me because I always point out the things that are wrong :)

Delboy . . .
+1
Gwen gives me earache for the same reason.
The Annual meet was the first timeinSnowdonia for twenty plus years for me.
Since then I have been back four times.
Yesterday called out with a 12 metre coach to rescue a party fron Golan and took them home to High Wycombe. Stayed there for legal rest and drove the beast home this morning.
Was asked to do some similiar Sunday and Monday but managed to say "NO".
SWMBO says we need time to do our own thing.

Next time you're over that way and at a loose end let me know, I'm only a few miles from HW.

Have S8, WILL travel! :D

Thanks for the offer, likewise if ever you somehow manage to find yourself in the Wigan area . . the kettle is always ready. We are five minutes "walking" from the famous pier.
This one was a rescue, it came up Thursday evening, had to organise the coach, grab some bedtime, up at 04:30, collected coach at 05:30 and on the way before 06:00.
Had to be in Criccieth area by nine and have break time before 10:00 departure. Then I was slowed down by caravans on the move, lost more than thirty minutes which meant the job could not be done in four and a half hours driving time. Which meant the nine hours rest at HW. Parked the coach at the Holiday Inn, but stayed at the Travelodge(special price, I carry a Travelodge card). Even had complimentary taxi from Holiday Inn and Travelodge. Does my face fit?
Departed HW this morning at 03:00, arrived home at 07:00 having washed and cleaned the coach.
