New owner D3 S8

Absolutely buzzing, got my dream car after many years.

Daytona Grey with black leather and B+O, resonated Milltek.

Ŵe looked at it earlier this week as it was local and my wife knew the seller, and I ummed and ahh'd, it was supposed to go in to a local specialist, who I know, today for a check over.

Anyway, I pop in to the specialist today, no sign of the S8, appointment cancelled as it was sold.

Gutted! Texting the wife on the way home effing and blinding, as thought we had first refusal...get home and the bloody thing is sat out the front!

Amazing, I just buckled.

My wife arranged it all without me knowing, such a surprise.

Right, off for a spin, will be grinning from ear to ear in a minute!

Don't misunderstand...I paid for it!

The B&O is lovely is it not.

Look forward to seeing pictures of her,but more importantly hearing that Milltek

The lack of audible presence is one thing I would like to address with mine, especially after the last meet with all the V8's with custom pipes

I agree with the others your wife's a keeper if she does things like that for you, even if your paying lol

Well, didnt want want to make any assumptions there - especially as I thought you might have noticed a few £k going out of your account :p

Never heard a car fitted with B&O and would love to and would definitely love to fit a Milltek or something that would empthasise the V8. Palmers rear end (oh err missus) -for sale, see other thread - would be on my list just to get the sound except I have just paid out for a 'stat, water pump, timing belt etc.

Congratulations, lovely car and in the perfect colour combo too +++

Looking forward to seeing more pics and a video of that roar, it may even convince me to splash out on one ;)

Concept 21st August 2015 08:43 PM

The only thing I would love, is factory tints. After market ones just don't cut it as you get the halo effect and can see the rear de mister lines.

Still might tempt myself though.

Need an AMI unit as the previous owner did the CD changer - iPod cable thing, and it doesn't function like the AMI does, don't like it, so will get one of those.

Now, facelift rear lights, who, how, where? Can't see any on eBay...

To be honest, the exhaust is lovely, however, I had an S6 V10, and had some custom back boxes made up, mated to original tail pipes, sounded great and looked stealth. Cost £250 or something, so the cost outweighed all else.

Would I spend £1200ish on an exhaust? Nope, unless it made a difference to performance.

You need to invest in the facelift lights, someone will be along soon to tell you the best places to get them +++

As for the exhaust, try £1,600, I've priced one. I'd still like first refusal if you go for a bespoke exhaust though :)

Facelift taillights can be bought from local Audi dealer for about 650, you will need a bit of cheek to get it but my local dealer did it.

The lights are actually made by this company, I considered setting up an account with them but it would have meant running a business. :tuttut:

Was hoping eBay would get me a set for a few hundred, seems not then. £650 is a fair old whack!

Welcome aboard the forum.
You are lucky.
Mine is also a keeper, she paid for my 8.

Does it work as a replacement CD changer or as AMI?

d.f. 22nd August 2015 11:38 PM

It allows you to attach an iPod etc.

But menu wise etc, is it just a replacement for CD changer?m

I currently have that, an iPod lead which dummies the system into thinking it's the CD changer, doesn't function smoothly or as an iPod should if that makes sense?

The AMI gives full functionality, playlists, songs etc all played as they should be.
