For Sale: 2008 Audi S8 facelift 5.2 V10

Hi

thanks for looking at my advert for my S8, which is a low mileage, high specification and cherished example. The car is a facelift model and has the full standard specification plus Bang and Olufsen Sound (latest firmware and 2014 maps) Audi Music Interface, rear DVD screens, extended leather, heated rear seats, rear blinds, keyless entry, soft close doors, remote electric boot, privacy glass and fingerprint recognition.
The car has a full Audi service history and has had (very recently) new discs, pads and tyres (Yokohama's) on newly refurbished wheels all round and the gearbox serviced (complete with updated firmware) at Scotland's only ZF certified garage. The car is standard other than the rear exhaust valve tweak, an upgraded 'RS' steering wheel and LED bulbs to all interior lights and rear number plate lights.
Whilst the car has age related marks, it is in excellent overall condition, all manuals, booklets, service history, all MOT's, tax discs and both (operating) keys present and correct, private number plate included in sale, it has clocked 56,500 miles and I'm looking for £19500 for it please.

I'm only selling this so I can go and buy a D4 S8.

That is absolutely stunning, good luck with the sale +++

Duffy 5th October 2015 08:18 PM

Meant to add that both rear calipers and EPB motors are brand new as well

:)

roberto 5th October 2015 08:25 PM

Sir WIll 5th October 2015 09:01 PM

Johnmed 5th October 2015 09:47 PM

Very nice. Someone is going to enjoy that thing for many many years to come.

GLWTS

Duffy 5th October 2015 09:56 PM

Thanks for all that.

It's certainly good to go with nothing required.

It's a great car

:)

roberto 7th October 2015 09:00 PM

does it have digital TV ?
does it have side assist ?

Duffy 7th October 2015 09:38 PM

Yep got freeview, DAB radio, AMI, B and O, I'm out of acronyms!

No side assist I'm afraid

:)

roberto 8th October 2015 07:54 AM

you mentioned upgraded RS steering wheel..it looks standard S8 to me
how long has it lived in scotland ?
is it hpi clear of accidents and finance?
how many owners?
has it ever had any paintwork at all?
cheers

this is about the steering wheel and I'm delighted you think it looks standard as that's a compliment when it comes to a mod! It's the same moulding but with thicker padding and nicer perforated leather, the standard wheel was very ordinary compared to the rest of the interior.
I had 2 minor scratches sorted by my favoured bodyshop, there's no trace of their work and I'm pretty particular.
It's had 5 previous owners, 4 of them within the first 20 months, last change was in 2011. It came from Bognor Regis and has been up here for 9 months.
It's HPI clear.

:)

Johnmed 8th October 2015 12:22 PM

The steering wheel looks like perforated leather, is that standard?

I'm presently the owner of his former (standard) S8 wheel.

On the RS5 yes, the one you now own is standard on the S8

I thought I recognised the plate. I came quite close to buying this from the Bognor Regis owner; ISTR that he took it off the market because he decided he wanted to hold onto it for a bit longer, which scuppered me a bit.

Duffy 12th October 2015 12:25 PM

Yeah he was a bit ambivalent about selling it (always a good sign) and he ended up needing a change of vehicle for business reasons.

Duffy 20th October 2015 11:36 AM

I've had a couple of queries asking, essentially, is the car clean

Some more photo's to show the general condition!

Also meant to add that both offside door handles have been replaced and that it's got the last of the facelift brakes with the biggest discs they fitted to a D3, they are quite effective!

:)

Duffy 31st October 2015 11:12 AM

Price reduced to £18,900

:)

Duffy 3rd December 2015 12:08 PM

Bump and now at £18,000

If I was in London I could have sold this 3 times over but being in the frozen north makes it trickier!

:)

The_Laird 3rd December 2015 01:02 PM

They're more canny up here! :)

Sir WIll 3rd December 2015 04:35 PM

Its a lovely trip up there though +++

If I was in the market for a D3 it would be top of the list.

roberto 3rd December 2015 05:37 PM

i took a train to aberdeen and drove mine back 400 miles

take a small deposit from people in london and deliver it
if they dont like it keep deposit (fuel money)

or take a measly offer from me :)

Duffy 4th December 2015 06:40 PM

I travel countrywide for the right car as you restrict yourself greatly if you only 'shop local'.

It's part of the fun!

I've offered to do what I do, which is book a cheap return flight and if the cars not as advertised then I pay for the return part of the flight.

A lot of calls from down south but little from up here!

:)

Blimey if they dont take that offer up then there not genuine..
and yes i agree its part of the fun.. +++

even more fun too with the forth bridge closed

Duffy 5th December 2015 09:45 AM

Yes the bridge is undoubtedly an issue at the moment.

However the money's going towards a D4 S8 and they are still on the steep part of the depreciation curve so I'm not in a desperate need to sell cheaply.

Annoying thing is I can look at the vast majority of similar adverts and go either 'it doesn't have this' or it's going to 'need this done soon' or 'funny they've not mentioned....' etc etc.

There's no such thing as a cheap S8, they are expensive cars to maintain properly and if it's going cheaply you can be pretty sure that a shedload of stuff has been skipped or is due.

This one is spot on.

:)

roberto 5th December 2015 10:51 AM

the new S8 is tempting me too
already down to £35k mark
see what happens next year me thinks

I've shared your advert with a mate who isn't a forum member, he loves the car and "could see himself in it" to quote his words. He's currently driving an S5 (low mile 59 plate) and said "I wonder if he'd consider part ex?" but I told him you're going up to a D4 S8 next so would be wanting a cash sale.

I agree with everything you say above, yours looks so clean and sorted that if I didn't already have one I'd be after it myself

GLWTS +++

Duffy 5th December 2015 06:14 PM

Thanks for that but yes a S5 wouldn't fit the bill
