2010 Black Saloon with full black leather interior and carbon inserts. The Saloon is rarer, lighter and thus faster to 60 by 0.1 secs... It all counts you know +++

52000 miles, recent Audi service and tyres all round.

Full Audi history, original service book, with handbooks etc.

Comprehensive, zero excess, transferrable and extendable Audi Warranty (hard to find now, and very desirable, most other policies have claim limits)

Factory options: Adaptive Cruise, Keyless, Privacy Glass, Blinds, Digital TV, Passenger Seat memory, Soft Close doors. I specifically avoided ceramics due to the very high cost of replacement and their fragility.

Boot liner, luggage net, all original kit.

Recent MRC health check and Engine/Gearbox remap to 709 Bhm, 1011 nm. Other than some performance air filters, this was a software only map and the car appears 100% stock. It could easily be unmapped if desired.

The commonly failing engine oil seal has been changed, along with recent power steering pump. All under warranty.

The DRC is perfect, but covered under warranty should there be a fault.

The interior is immaculate.

Full 3G MMI with 2015 maps updated by Audi. Includes 2 x SDHC slots, DVD player, 6 CD changer, AMI interface, DAB and DVB-T. VIM is also enabled.

It drives spot on, and wants for nothing.

The C5 RS6 was a C5 with a bigger engine shoe horned in.

The C6 RS6 was bred from the drawing board to be an animal.

Don't think for one minute that this is 'a bit faster' than the quick cars you are used to. The performance is absolutely breathtaking.

MRC removed the 155 limiter, and now it will happily hit 200 mph.

I played supercar top trumps with the kids over xmas, and not one car had the same power as this, and I whittled the pack down to 2 or 3 which might just show it taillights in a quarter mile....

Factory 0-60 is 4.5 seconds for this saloon. The remap has likely knocked a second off that. 20 MPG is do-able on a good run, 17 is the all time average, but fuels that cheap right now, who cares?... +++

There are many cheaper examples of an RS6 out there for sale, but I guarantee its a minefield of money pits you have to sift through. Here is my original thread on hunting for this car in the first place: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=9586

Nice, very nice (and very well looked after, it goes without saying). If only I didn't already have two cars more than I really need…

Hi Res 3G Sat Nav

http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1452784866

Adaptive cruise (admittedly doing nothing as im parked up lol) - Note the non linear speed increments. North of 120 mph the needle slows down, but the acceleration does not. Left me feeling giddy for the first few months until I worked out why my eyes said the acceleration was dropping off, but my gut said not.... Yes. Seriously.

Big digital speedo.... handy for trying to glace at the volatile speed.

Digital Boost gauge, oil temp and lap timer...

Media kit in the glovebox. Note. No actual room for any gloves... ;)

I REALLY need a box for my gloves. Gutted. Reluctantly, I'm out:)

Adrian E 15th January 2016 07:16 AM

That looks good value Ian +++

There's one the same age (but dog knob red) saloon on AT which is £37k, albeit with slightly lower mileage.

If I didn't 'need' an Avant I'd be raiding all the piggy banks, including the bank manager's!

Nah, you still don't' need an avant....

If you've got more than one boot load of stuff to carry, make two trips. It'll do two trips in less time than most cars do one, and its way more fun :p

I'm really not a fan of flat red on larger cars - it just looks wrong IMHO.

Don't mind a bright shade, but a pearl or metallic needed to carry it off.

I really, really do need an avant - I've no chance of convincing the better half that we need to change unless it offers more practicality than her S5 Sportback, which the saloon RS does not.

I'm sure it'll sell but here's a free bump for Ian anyway :D

Good question....

Not sure. They said you couldn't put one on the C5 RS6, but what they actually meant was, you shouldn't - something do with engine load and cooling. Still, I fitted one for a light trailer and all was well - all the fixing locations were standard avant Quattro.

I don't see why a towbar wouldn't fit on these, but it might be worth a check with an Audi parts dept if it was a fundamental purchasing requirement +++

I want it for a Thule bike rack....don't like sticking them on the roof...so not exactly a heavy load...

I'll ring around.

No worries. I'm hoping no one buys it anyway.... :D

Misano red is a Marmite colour - Some love, some avoid it. I'm sad to say I'm in the latter camp. Would look ok on the missus town run around, but not liking it for anything much bigger than an A3....

Just my personal thing though, I know others like it lots.

Unrelated, but that C5 RS looks a bit high at the back - DRC issues ?

Thought so. C5 DRC was rubbish. Literally, junk. Mine (and many, many others) had coilovers which made for a staggeringly well handling estate car.

Pleased to say the C6 DRC is not only better, but configurable, and seemingly way more reliable.

roberto 2nd February 2016 05:19 AM

yeh seen lots with coilovers seemed to be the way to go

mine was fitted with 4 new shocks and pump etc at that time by audi for free.
and i must say it handled superbly then.
18,000 miles from new when i took it in p/x
she was in mint condition.
wonder who owns it now.
but having said that who owns my escort mk1 1600 bda i sold for a grand, maybe worth £50,000 now LOL

IT 5th February 2016 12:46 PM

I think after mucho dragging of heels, the reality is that this car needs to be sold.

I have a 30K ornament, which whilst most beautiful, really does need driving more than twice a month.....

If you have an RS on your bucket list, this is probably one of the most depreciation-proof examples out there. Run it 6 months to the end of summer and cash it in....

Singh 7th February 2016 10:51 AM

Not driven mine in just under a month now. Was looking out the window just admiring the brakes this morning. Driveway ornament, indeed. I can't bring myself to sell it though. :o

Its touch and go I'll tell you. Its notably the only car I think of that I've had for over a year, and that speaks volumes.....

Every day no-one buys it, I'm not really disappointed.... ;)

Norretal 7th February 2016 03:48 PM

Having seen it and driven it yesterday, after being kindly invited to by Ian, I can only say that whoever owns this next is a lucky sod.

I've never been in a car so brutal yet refined. Brutal in delivery of the power yet seems to do it effortlessly and stays solid and stable throughout. I've ridden high powered motorbikes and thought the acceleration from them was awesome but this car is something else. The kick in the back as you're thrust back into the seat when the loud pedal is pushed produces the biggest adrenaline rush ever. Despite it being damp and dull it did it with the minimum of fuss and when required to behave it's also a lovely car to be in

If my circumstances were different I'd be driving back down to collect it next week. Driving home in the S8 felt sedate in comparison but a worthwhile few hours spent and the added bonus of a 150 mile trip while listening to the B&O without interference from a passenger +++

IT 17th February 2016 11:26 AM

I've spotted something I really quite fancy.

The phrase part exchange has even been muted. I'm not sure I could let it come to that. :(

Reduced to 28K for the next few days only to see if any lurkers want a bargain....

Norretal 18th February 2016 08:48 AM

Will someone please buy this before it gets to the point where I can afford it and the divorce that will ensue when I do, I really don't want to have that choice right now :(

HPsauce 18th February 2016 10:09 AM

I did drop some heavy hints last night, mentioning Ian (who SWMBO has met) and explained it had everything we need in a replacement for our old Ford Focus and was even cheaper than most of the options we're considering.
Didn't go well. :tuttut:

IT 18th February 2016 10:39 AM

Trust me, this is the most turmoil I've been in for some time.

I've accidently found a car that is, bar exclusive leather and towing equipment, 'fully loaded'. Really. Dripping in kit. Everything that could have been bolted on, was. I have never seen anything like it. There is usually something missing...but no. Wants for nothing. Just had new tyres and brakes all round. Worst advert I ever saw too, the dealer has no idea what they're selling, as usual.

I want it so badly, it aches. Yet, I also can't feel right 'giving' the RS away, or worse still letting it fall into the hands of someone that really doesn't appreciate it.... And having both of them sat on the drive is going to cause all sorts of tummy troubles... ;)

I'm dragging my heels. A part of me hopes this other car sells and the problem is taken from me. If its still there, I'm going Saturday to talk ££'s and p/x's..... :(

It does feel a heck of a lot smaller, and more nimble to drive, that its size would suggest. But even I, the master of all words salesy, couldn't suggest its a ford focus replacement, unless you find the weekly shopping is taking too long, and the best way to save time is on the journey... :D

Goran 18th February 2016 10:59 AM

£28k is a really good price too. I have been eyeing 2012 C63 coupes with performance pack on Autotrader, and its a struggle to find one for £32k. And its a slower and smaller car than the RS6.
Unfortunately both of these are out of my price range at the moment, saving for a house is top priority.
Very tempting though.
