no .. towing a broken down car with an auto box is a bad idea ..
ie .. if you have an automatic car (A8) and it brakes down, dont tow it ..
but if its manual you can .. wont be an A8 thou

have i over complicated that ?

totally different scenario ..

1781cc 2nd February 2016 06:30 PM

 I read that completely wrong then! I did wonder why there was a towing/level button on the S8 if it was a bad idea.

This is good though as I was thinking of getting something to take the track slag off the road permanently as a trailer queen

What are you doing with that big lump of metal anyway?

Mechcanico Lee 2nd February 2016 06:36 PM

I don't know Ron, the 3.7 is quite a powerful lump.. :D

It's ok Ron, I think the 3.7 is a pointless engine. 1% better fuel economy over the 4.2 for a 17% loss in peak power  Also the 3.7 is a shortstroke so in theory it should have a higher max RPM and produce max torque and power higher up the rev band, but what's the point in a heavy autobahn cruiser

I can't defend the 3.7 even if I have that lump :-(

roberto 3rd February 2016 10:49 AM

3.7 V6 tdi ?
