Whos up for a meet up in Devon?

I've not put any more thought in to this idea, posting this thread is as far as that went.

Hopefully we can put our heads together and get something organised?

I could be up for that. I can always fit in a visit to my family in Plymouth which makes it easier to get permission!

Count me in :) I'm happy to host at my place as previously mentioned (lift, big yard, pub with carvery), but also up for other suggestions.

It seems the best place, possibly more relaxed than Route 5 or such.

Might be able to pop down to Mikes to do some other business at his and then both pop over from there. SUndays are good but we are in Germany the same weekend as Audis in the Park is on so probably after that would work +++

If we're going to meet at mine then we can do yakking and poking around on the lift in the morning and then book a space for the carvery from 4-6. The pub is used to car meets so would be happy to accommodate us :) They'd need a couple of weeks notice of course. We could possibly go for a cruise afterwards?

As noted previously, my place isn't exactly Pendine Sands - its a small unit on a business park! But, it is functional and well stocked with tools if anyone has any little jobs they'd like to do :D There's parking space for comfortably a dozen 8s in the yard.

Or, meet up at mine in the morning and then cruise to somewhere else for lunch?

Or indeed, do something completely different!

Yeah we could do an AC pump :) Is there still gas in it? My neighbour is an AC engineer, but I'm not sure how keen he would be to work on a Sunday.

A key friend I know thinks he can do CP, can do the keys and clocks and as a guinea pig I'm letting him try my car but to make his trip worth it and lighter on my pocket, If we can get a couple of people that's wanting keys it helps and I thought this would be a perfect time.

I will be unable to make this meet. I thought I was back from Germany on Saturday (apparently I should listen!) but am not until Sunday.

I am a little annoyed with myself! Hope all have fun.

Monday might work better for me too as I'm hoping to adjust my garden wall to fit the 8 this weekend.

Will be the A8 loaner if I do come though as my S is still with the garage. :-(

I'll come whatever day, but prefer the original date as I'll be working early on the Tuesday so if it were Monday would have to leave early'ish as getting back to Blandford will be fun as the Monday is the last day of the Great Dorset Steam fair and the roads get very busy, almost gridlocked as the festival goers leave.

I can do either day but Monday would be better for me. Just need time and location to meet up. Hopefully will have a repaired S8 by then.

Monday now my only option due to 2 work jobs early and late on the Sunday

I quite fancied the drive down for this but have had to shelve the idea.
My mate in Chepstow has passed and we have the funeral on the 2nd. This has turned September into a hectic month.

We need to decide a date, where are Scott or Mikeyjane when we need them?

Been on holiday sailing :D Monday is fine with me but the pub is shut so we'd need to find another venue for food if that's important. Also bear in mind the M5 Northbound will be pretty hellish with all the grockles going home.

If I'm reading previous replies right, is it now 4 of 6 who can't do Sunday and only 3 for Monday?

I can only do Monday now, I think Mike (Conan the Librarian) prefers Monday but can probably make both, and believe me when I say that I'd much rather do Sunday because I've got to brave the M5 going home on the Monday too, but work means I can't do Sunday any more

lets just go with the Monday I think?

I'll be there from 09:00 so any time after that until we all get bored +++

There's another pub nearby which does food from 12:00-21:00 but we'll need to book a table so can I get some ideas for when we'd like to eat please? I'll start the ball rolling with 13:00 for lunch. Alternatively we can get pasties from the local shop for lunch and go to the pub later? I have tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits in the workshop.
