I was worried you were going to do some mechanicking yourself there for a moment Brian!!

remember my view on DIY is "know your limitations" David, so I always get a man in

Lol, sounds to me like your idea of DIY Brian is Dont Involve Yourself, lol. I know I stated this is for the 40v motors but if anyone wants to try it for their engine is again more than welcome to try it for size

Does anyone know anywhere in the North West where I might be able to loan/buy a Cam Locking Kit?

My car has gone into the garage for a major service today and they're struggling to get hold of one :-(

MikkiJayne 30th August 2016 03:30 PM

I can post you mine, but it'll be Thursday before I can get it there. Sorry I didn't see this earlier.

Thanks Mikki, that would be great. :)

Just spoke to the garage and they're still struggling to get hold of one. I'll PM you.

If you still need one by then, let me know and we can come up with a plan to get it to you if that suits? Whereabouts is your garage so I can see if I can get it dropped off quickly/easily

Thanks very much for the offer. +++

Mikki has very kindly offered to loan me her cam locking kit which I believe is on its way up north as we speak/type.

I would've asked sooner but I was actually planning to buy a cam locking kit. In fact the garage ordered the kit for me and was told it would be delivered this week but their supplier let them down.

Result, well done MikkiJayne!

Thanks Dave! :)

Amazing how many own a cam locking kit. Everybody but me it seems!

Picked mine up on Fleabay for not too much money, bought bar and lock pin separately from two different sources - pin came all the way from China in 3 days.

Hmmm. Might order one for next time.

The garage had ordered a new kit on my behalf, which should've been delivered on Monday, but the supplier let them down. Couldn't find anybody else local who the kit in stock.

Mikki's cam locking bar in-place earlier today ...

Attachment 14310

The job is taking longer than expected due to the discovery of a leaky crankshaft seal (new seal expected to arrive today).

Now just anxiously hoping it all goes back together without any problems :-(

Sorry to have not been in a position to make it three. :-(
And to be predantic, Brian, any fewer and it wouldnt be a meet so its not just a contender but is absolutely the minimum requirement to make it the smallest meet. +++

pedant in spelling mistake shocker:ROFL:

In theory you could have a one car meet, if one member was meeting another to collect a part he had been sold, but his car was off the road and he had travelled to the meet by bus:p

There once was an owner from Scotlandshire. . . .
Who turned up for a meet in his S8 Car. . . .
But the car was all black - even trim, front and back. . .
and because it was night - no one saw him thar!
:p:D

Not a problem Brian! Glad to be of help. For those that havent seen Brians car in the flesh (or should that be aloominum lol) the pictures dont do the cars colour justice, beautiful! And a pleasure to have met you Brian. Lovin the whole mini (micro?) meet debate, lol, what if that second member on the bus was a child, would that be a 1.5 meet?...... discuss, lol
