Pro-Detailer Magazine at the Annual Meet 2018

Afternoon All,

I just wanted to introduce myself - I've been chatting with Neil (Architex_mA8tey) about car care and detailing. I edit a little magazine called PRO Detailer which we produce in Cirencester. Each issue has a theme - our latest is JDM, the next one in the Summer is motorbikes, and next Christmas we will likely do VAG.

We have to appeal to a broad spectrum of owners - which is why I wasn't allowed to call our JDM one a 'Subaru Edition' (my other passion apart from D2's) - but I would really like to do some features on our favoured Bavarian Bruisers. My own S8 FE - currently getting a manual conversion with Mikki (MikkiJayne) - has appeared in the odd issue - but I would love to do a wider feature on A8/S8s in a similar vein to the group day we did with a JDM club in Rotherham (see photo).

I'm coming to the Xmas ding dong on Saturday - do come and say hi if you'd like to be involved (look for a fat man sitting awkwardly in a corner) - or comment here. We could tie in a shoot and video with the annual meeting too.

Here's a link to the FB page so you can see what it's all about, and I'll bring some copies to the meet on Saturday if anyone is interested, or has insomnia.

We'll have a chat to Jim who is one of the 2 main organisers of this years annual meet as he is also at the xmas meet then he can bring Mark up to speed and see what can be accommodated (Bert is already booked in to the hotel Jim) +++

Yep, plan to be there on Saturday (but I have some exhaust issues that I hope to get fixed in time). Happy to consider a detailing event.

Are you sure about Bert’s booking? Do you know his surname so I can check?

A couple of people mentioned how shiny Vera's S8s was looking in the Pelikanblau thread. Its entirely thanks to Bert that I have learned how to take care of my car properly instead of ruining the paint with a bucket and sponge +++ Bert will be along shortly to give a bit more detail on what he has planned for the Sunday morning so in the meantime, potato-phone pics of shiny things

I wonder if Bert knows anyone who would do my car before the annual meet?

Not all the way up to the North Derbyshire Dales Andrew, no - it just wouldnt stack up for them at the costs of travel and accommodation versus the return so unless we can find a local guy that wants to come along then Bert will have to prostitute his services out before the demo proper!! :D

Good news everybody! :) I've got over it

A gathering

On another, but aligned note, at this event we will have (is it the first time since 2004?) all the different 'A8' variants. Yes; D2, D3, D4 and a D5. Fantastic photo opportunity. Now who would like to run a story like that in a magazine? Audi Driver? Audi World? Audi Magazine? Performance Audi? Hmmmmm......

and perhaps the picture could be. . . winner of the Best D2, Best D3 and Best D4 Categories along with the D5 +++
I'll see if I can get Neil Birkitt along from Audi Driver magazine but our weekend clashes with GTi International which is also organised by them
