Heated front screen
 

Unfortunately mine doesn't have it but it is something that I would like to fit. Looking on ETKA, I can't find a part number. Is it a plug and play (with coding) or is there more to it?

You'll need a heated screen module, which sits at the rear of the car, it takes the high current DC voltage from the battery and converts it to the high voltage, lower current needed for the screen (I believe), and you need to run cables the length of the from the module to the climate module, and the windscreen obviously, and then a bit of coding.

Theres no rocket science, but its a lot of interior dismantling to route all the cables properly.

The front heated screen module is a slave from the Climate Unit. It's located in the boot near the battery.

Module identifier is J505 in the current flow and part number is 4E0910133.

Ah, but done properly, and you'd retrofit the whole heat and UV reflective glass all round, and that really is nice in this kind of weather +++

I think I already have the UV and heat reflective glass. Looking at the '09 brochure, it was standard but wondering if it was standard on the facelift from 07/08?

I thought that the heated screen was standard on the S8's. Along with the heat reflective twin pane glass

I've seen S8's without heated front screen, but I don't know what is what isn't standard.

Easier than moving the battery to see the module check the coding for 08 Auto HVAC

Heated front screen option is bit 3, and value is 1 for installed.
Example:

57469 coding in binary is 1110000001111101

D3 S8 has UV and Heat reflective glass as standard. Heated windscreen was a small cost uplift option, as the Heat and UV reflective glass was the bulk of the cost of the heated windscreen option on the D2 and D3 and you can't have heated windscreen with standard glass.
