Wanted - Genuine D3 Tow Bar
 

Hi all

Does anyone on the forum happen to have a genuine D3 tow bar sat spare that they would like to sell?

One of our Scandinavian freinds is searching for one so I said I would ask around here for them

i seem to remember a guy up this end with one for sale i will contact him today to see if he still has it

The genuine one is a westfalia, the fitment and wiring/ecu are almost identical, just without the rings +++

Thanks Paul that's useful to know, it seems like these tow bars are like rare unobtanium in Sweden!

Looks like they have been discontinued, but did see this which maybe useful as the physical bar is easy to remove from a breaker - wiring ends to get cut +++

Is he specifically after genuine?
Autohak make one for the D3 which is a good fit, vertical mount and all those good things, the removable portion may even fit in the factory tool mount in the boot.

Dont know if they have the electrics, but ECS electronics may be able to help (they definitely make a module for the comparable era A6 which may be compatible).

PF Jones, Whitter and Bosal are also reputable manufacturers of tow bars with factory fit and rating.

What kind of money are they going for?

My A8 has one but I will probably never use it. If there is enough money in it I might be tempted to remove it.

Hi all - quick update:
Current status for this now is - he has found a wiring harness that's on the way now and he has to go down to Stockholm to pick the hook up there. The only thing left to buy is the control box. So its near a solution now - anyone know where the control box can be sourced? +++
