2025 Annual Meet Activities
Hi all,
I have put together a list of activities for the annual meet, before I go ahead and book I wanted to confirm numbers for each activity if possible. On the Saturday a visit Honister Slate Mine and the Lakes Distillery. On Sunday an early morning visit to Lakeland Motor Museum after breakfast. Thanks very much for the effort planning this Connor, however for various reasons we're quite a way from being decisive at present, but I'll share my thinking if that's OK:
Motor Museum, definitely interested especially the Bluebird exhibits. Distillery, we've been to so many in the past that we'd probably pass on that one. Honister mine, interested but concerned about accessibility which is a fluctuating issue at present. We tried a cavern in Derbyshire a few months ago and in retrospect just shouldn't have! :tuttut: Do you know how much climbing/stairs/rough ground is involved? |

No problem Andrew, the mine tour is fairly easy going. A bus takes you to and from the mine. The tour includes a total of 50 steps with a handrail and not much rough ground. If you follow the link on the top post to Honister there are some FAQs on the tour |
I would also add Andrew that the Lakes Distillery is worth doing even if you, like me, have done many of the more traditional Scottish Distilleries as their former blender, Dhavall Gandhi took them down a slightly more innovative approach during his time there and that comes across in the tours.

Farrah's coffee shop in Kendal Keswick Saturday market Toys and hobbies in Keswick (has the best outdoorsy shop hidden in the back) Angel Lane chippy in Penrith (or Fish Express if you don't want to leave kendal) You're Also not too far from the greatest UK drive you can do in a D2.... Brough (Kirkby Stephen) to Consett via Stanhope. Hope you guys have an amazing time. |

I live in the South West Lakes but I'm unfortunately busy for most of the annual meet weekend. However I was wondering about popping over to the hotel for half an hour or so on Friday night to say hello. Will most people be there on Friday and is there anything planned such as walking around the cars (if anyone does this) before you all eat?
