Reffro 16th November 2010 07:48 PM

Count me in, without a shadow of a doubt, with lashings of Nordschliefe please.

Singh 16th November 2010 08:23 PM

Because of what I do for a living I could go on an all inclusive Caribbean cruise for 7 or 14 nights for less then half what the trip to Edersee will cost me (Assuming the trip with LPG costs £500) But heck, I'm in and will be driving my own car whatever that will be then. +++

PsYcHe 16th November 2010 09:16 PM

Amar... Can I have the 14-night Caribbean cruise :) Just pop it down for early July. Might be able to do the 2011 meet, just need to sort out the family holiday (I know my priorites are jumbled, but I need to keep her sweet for the forthcoming W12 or S8 purchase(s)).

darrenjoe90 17th November 2010 07:42 PM

Guys,

If you book your ferry now using this link a return trip is £70.

I suggest the 0700 ferry on the morning of Friday 12th and return on Tuesday the 16th at 1745.

Happy?

Conan_the_Librarian 8th June 2011 07:02 PM

With P&O and adding priority boarding its £93.

darrenjoe90 8th June 2011 07:17 PM

what about priority boarding i dont see an option for this ?

Conan_the_Librarian 8th June 2011 07:35 PM

SeaFrance ain't got it! :(

notorious 8th June 2011 09:25 PM

OK, I'm going. How I can register for the event?

Conan, I'll board 7am ferry on Friday, but what are we going to do in Germany on Monday and Tuesday? From the program I see people are going home on Sunday...

Monday and Tuesday will be a small diversion home via the Nurbergring Sergey :D

notorious 9th June 2011 07:40 AM

I see :) to be honest I'm not a big fan of racing...

I tried to book hotel, but didn't find booking facility on their web site.

Architex_mA8tey 9th June 2011 08:56 AM

Well you don't have to race, you can just come along and watch others! :)
to confirm details for this trip -

Some are staying at Dover on Thursday 11th Aug
then
The Hotel at Edersee for 2 nights on the 12th and 13th Aug for the meet (they dont have online booking you will need to email them)
then
The Hotel at Nurburgring for 2 nights on the 14th and 15th
and
coming back on Tuesday 16th

I will check ferry times with Mike because the times he mentioned refer to sea france sailings but he mentioned booking with P&O to get priority boarding which has different sailing times

Reffro 9th June 2011 10:39 AM

I prefer the convenience of the Priority boarding on P&O. It makes the whole trip that much less stressful, plus we are guaranteed to be getting on and off the boat together.

Knowing that Edersee is over 6hrs drive from Calais (excluding any stops), I want to do like last year and get an early ferry, to ensure that we arrive in Edersee mid afternoon, Giving us time to relax before the evenings festivities. Last year after some stops and misdirection, we arrived at the hotel at 4pm, which was ideal.

As such can we all agree to take the same ferry as last year, P&O at 05:55 on the Friday 12th August, with a return on Tuesday 16th August at 16:35, with priority boarding. (It also helps that you are first in line for the restaurant, best seats etc.)

If we book now its £93 as Conan has said.

That is my particular preference, what do you all think?

notorious 9th June 2011 10:58 AM

Guys, I'm OK for P&O at 05:55am on 12th of August, but I'm now not sure about going to Nurburgring, as I'll be limited with vacation time.

I'm planning to stay for two nights in Edersee and then go to back to UK directly from there, which means 16:35 ferry on 14th of August (not 16th).

I have e-mailed Edersee hotel and now waiting for confirmation of booking for two nights.

I can do my ferry booking asap.

darrenjoe90 9th June 2011 11:44 AM

I agree with you jethro p&o is a good option. priority boarding is the best option as before. we just need to agree and i will book it.

Conan_the_Librarian 9th June 2011 12:37 PM

P&O it is then. I suggest we book
Outward Dover - Calais Fri 12 Aug 2011 05:55 £42.00 Options 1 x Priorité https://www.poferries.com/tourist/im...in_content.png Return Calais - Dover Tue 16 Aug 2011 17:20 £51.00 Options 1 x Priorité Includes 2 adults , Car up to 1.8m high

CtL

Reffro 9th June 2011 12:55 PM

OK I'm booked now with P&O on 05:55 12th Aug & 16:35 16th Aug, with priority boarding.

Mike, sorry I didn't spot your 17:20 suggestion, so went with my original time.

Conan_the_Librarian 9th June 2011 12:58 PM

I haven't booked yet so will match your times.

Conan_the_Librarian 9th June 2011 05:56 PM

So you don't miss it here it is in big little words.

You neede to book your own hotels and ferries.

Edersee Hotel details here
..........
Nurburgring details here.............

We are going on the P&O ferry 0555 sailing on the Friday and will probably stay at the Premier Inn Dover East on the Thursday night.

daviesbike 10th June 2011 09:19 AM

times ect seem fine to me i will book the ferrie and the hotel, what about the ring .... is that an arrive and drive sort of set up or pre book ?

oh and what is the expected total cost of the trip are we talking 1k there and back hotel ferrie and the ring ect ... just so i can set aside a float for the trip :-)

Architex_mA8tey 10th June 2011 09:29 AM

1 Attachment(s)
When you get to the ring you need to get a ring card (attached info) which is easy to pick up anywhere from various booths or machines, then you load it with credit for either laps or for spending in the shops on food etc

I reckon fuel will be £400-500, Ferry £100, Hotels Max £80/Night = £400
Plus any car & personal insurance and then spending money/beer money
Prices for the ring are approx -
Single lap €22
4-lap ticket €75
8-lap ticket €145
15-lap ticket €250
25-lap ticket €390
Could be £1200-1500 on that basis max +++

darrenjoe90 10th June 2011 11:45 AM

I worked out my costs from bradford and back will be about £1268 including everything :)

That cost is based on two people with beer

daviesbike 13th June 2011 10:35 AM

https://www.poferries.com/tourist/passengerDetails.html

is this correct ?

Just to be safe, if you're driving to Calais from Edersee, I'd book a later ferry back on the Sunday. Bear in mind you are going to be driving for 6 hours , that means leaving very early to guarantee your arrival at Calais for 16:00.
