The most boring post on here, ever?
Not very exciting, but does anyone else find that if they put their service / handbook wallet in the cubby hole by the drivers knee where it belong, it falls out within a few miles.....
It is a step up from my B5 A4, where the wallet wouldn't even fit in the holder. |
Mine always did.. so kept it in the house :)
|
Mine stays in fine :)
|
hmmmmmm.
I would not ever never ever leave my service documents inside the car. Car get nicked, docs go with it....:-( Zip |
Only if i floor it from stand still ;)
|
I was thinking about that the other day. Came to the conclusion that keeping the service history in the car wasn't really a problem. If your car gets nicked, other than slightly helping the resale value, it wouldn't gain the burglar anything?
Keeping your V5 in the car isnot a good idea though! |
I keep my service book with the car bills in a folder - the handbook is living in the cubby OK - are you sure you're putting it all the way in? I thought I had it in OK, but then realised there was another slot above the main cubby which is a much tighter fit but has a little hand grab slot so you can get a decent grip to pull it out again?

Had the service book and radio and other stuff stolen from a Beemer 750iL once. Not the car mind you.
They punched a hole by the lock to get in. I was able to replace everything except the service book, since when I never leave em in the car. |
Mins always used to fall out, so it always lived in the glovebox instead...
I could of course slow down a bit, but theres never time for that is there ? :p |
I'm LHD so I guess its the same but the other way round. Mine always falls out so it lives in the glove box - which sometimes has its own access problems! In UK I never carry the registration docs, but here in France it is an offence not to have it, plus insurance, MOT and driving license with you in the car. Cubby by knee is just perfect for 2 x yellow jackets which must be available from within the cabin, and groping around through the ski hatch doesn't really cut it in an emergency.

Mine seems to stay put just fine, even when driving 'enthusiastically' and ocasionally, when the mood grabs me, on opposite lock :D
