Coffee Morning
 

Hi everyone.

Just wanted to let you guys know that we're having a coffee morning meet on Sat 5th March here at revo.

Just wanted to arrange abit of a friendly meet where, hopefully, plenty of enthusiaiats will come and meet up to chat, see some nice cars and also a good way for people to see the new workshop and site.
It's certainly a tad bigger than my own old unit!! +++

Everyone's welcome, there'll be a burger van type thing on site so bacon butties will be available!

Looking at times from 9:30am untill around 2pm (or until we all get bored if that becomes much later!!)

Hopefully see some of you guys then if anyone can make it along!

maybe we could have a chat about you doing a bit of work on my s8 :)

one question. do i get a free revo sticker for the side of my car ?

That's not stalking mate - if you were found with your face pressed up against my front room window two weekends on the trot then we'd be talking! :ROFL:

Gonna wash the car in prep, will probably get dirty again on the way to work, doh!

I've asked my friend to come over in his Misano RS 6 Avant, he shoots magazine quality photos so there will be some good photo opps. I hope that's okay with Ben?
Hope he can make it, I didn't give him much notice!!

Really would have loved to have come down to support this event and meet some peeps, but I'm already double booked, and one of those is my youngests 1st birthday party, so unless theres going to be balloons, jelly and ice cream (for my older kids) then I doubt I'll get away with it as a birthday celebration..... :D

its now 16.25 and i still dont have my car back. i called in on my way home from work and she was in bits with no bumper or wing on. he said he is still hopeing to get her ready today +++
got my new number plates today+++

Bit of a crisis at work - means I'm going to be in the office most of the AM tomorrow may try and make it in the afternoon but chances looks slim :(

Fantastic day at revo started with a run down the M1. Drove from Leeds to just south of Sheffield at 80mph and got an average of 26.1mpg

then got bored at that speed and drove at 100( kph of course officer +++ ) and then got an average of 21.2 mpg. I dont think thats bad for an S8. Dont want to go into too many details but i now know my speed restrictor no longer works ;)

In all there was about 40 cars that turned up so late morning we all went for a drive together. that turned out to be like wacky races with 40 nutters let loose on the roads but it was fun +++
reffro took my car for a spin then tintin took my car out and both came back with a smile and askin ben for the same map on there cars. It is hard to describe in words how my car drives now with the new map but i would bet that everybody with an S8 thats drives mine will be askin ben for the same. it is just superb !

How on Earth did you achieve 26mpg?! Mine did 20mpg when I collected it in the snow and drove like Miss Daisy on the way home - haven't seen an economy figure starting with a 2 since :D

Who do the black and avus cars belong to?

i get a lot better fuel economy now i have had a remap.I used to get about 18mpg but a lot better now. The other two belong to reffro and tintin.

Black one is mine - and cheers Darren - it's a very flattering photo.

T'was a good day out, tho' I missed the convoy blast, due to getting a quote from Pristine for a refurb.

Ben still able to wave his magic wand and make A/S8's even better....:D

Some very nice looking shiny cars there, think we might need to send a hit team down to kidnap Ben and hold him hostage up here until he does the remap on all of our cars;)

Spent the day panel bashing and fixing a new cargo floor in my van, but wish I could have been there with you guys:(

What fuel are you using mate? Can you use anything, or are you restricted to Vpower and the like with that map?

Looked to be a great day - nice one for taking the time to take pictures and posting them up +++

I don't know about better fuel economy, but my car has been getting faster as the map is adapting to my car and driving. I've done about 120 miles in it since, its phenomenal, far better than I expected. I can feel genuine shove from 2500-3000rpm, real back of the seat push, and its just flies after that, charging hard after 6000rpm too, when previously there was little extra urge. It will genuinely change the way I drive the car, once I get used to its increased performance.

I'll see how the economy goes during the week, but for now I'm just enjoying the torque.

I allways use v-power or bp ultimate anyway but ben did ask if i use v-power so he could advance the timing slightly.

Really enjoyed it very glad that Reffro and Tintin you both had the MAP. Hope you're still enjoying it!

I have such a soft spot for the '8 still and seeing a few drive off together or even sat together is cool as hell!

Thanks for such a well sorted event. Load of food.... and cakes and more food. It was great meting up with everyone, and the sedate drive around your locality was a ball of fun.

Man, am I jealous, and totally hacked off that I didn't check in for a few days, would have LOVED to come over!!! Not even that far(hangs head in shame!!)
Maybe if there's a next time(on my knees, praying...)one of you fine chaps will at least pm or mail me, or even text me, and I'll be there!!!
