I was looking for protectors for my FL and couldnt find any, I wanted to project my bi xenons through the tough winter months next year, as I plan on polishing them up when the weather improves as they are in a right state!

Architex_mA8tey 28th February 2011 08:04 PM

the only stuff i've seen is film like this
I've seen D3 acrylic protectors (example here) but never any for a D2 :(

Checked out that site... http://www.lamin-x.co.uk/gallery/red.htm

A possibility of going red on the rear indicators without the huge expense of buying complete lenses from the US?

Ordered+++. Had a look here last night as i remembered it from BIGSTU's 8. But i'd be right in thinking that it won't stop my glass from smashing just the smashed bits from falling out?

I've posted this before somewhere, probably when the other lens was smashed but i have seen a D2 in Germany with plastic protectors.

Good stuff, I rate it. The fog lamps on my old A4 where tinted yellow with it.

Film arrived quick, quick thanks to Neil at Lamin-X, picked up the new lens from Audi, so Friday i got to sticking. Dezzy's skills need more practice but it's ok for a first attempt i suppose and i've learnt for next time. Thinking it might be a bit dark for every day (night) use. Maybe a lighter tint for winter?

Lamin-X is pretty big in RSA and most of the guys use it.
There are various types/shades/colours of Tint but the more popular one is called "Tint" which is a 6% Tint.
I will be doing my Headlamps shortly in this colour due to the one lens being a new lens and the other Old it looks Odd.

Some Pics of the 6 % on an A3.

I used Gunsmoke on my Tail lights of the Cab. It is quite a bit Darker than the "Tint" 6 %. +++
