One of mine doesn't demist, I'm not sure why.

Only problem is I don't remember, and until it gets colder I won't know which....

The glass looks a bit odd in the eBay picture, what is that?

It needs cleaning :(

Tell you what, I'll take it, £10 posted isn't bad. And I'm pretty sure it's the drivers mirror that doesn't demist.
(easy to wipe - N/S would really annoy me!)

Frosty morning, checked the mirrors, neither defrost/demist now.
Time to RTFM; checked the fuse which is fine.

The manual says they're on when the ignition is on, that's it.
No temperature trigger at all - can anyone confirm that?

When the replacement arrives and is fitted I'll know more.....:cool:

I think they come on together with rear window heater

I tried that just in case as it was an obvious possibility; no difference.
The manual makes no connection between them that I saw.

My A8 manual says they come on together with rear window heater, A6 that they come on depending on outside temperature

In a lot of Audis you also have to have the mirror adjust button turned to centre rather than left or right mirror otherwise they wont heat when the rear screen heater is on either

Mines almost permanently on left (for the reverse dip), so I'll try that.

I need both door mirror glasses with the backing plates for a 2002 D2 A8. Part nos are 8DO 857 535 G and 8DO 857 536 H.
