MMI Update help....
Need my AMi working, and my MMi is to old to do it. So, I have a set of pukka Audi 5570 discs and ran disc 1 through this morning. No probs, all done and dusted, AMI picks up and very happy.
Need to do disc 2 and 3 though and not so good. I really want the Bluetooth upgraded so my iphone brings in contacts and hopefully pairs up more consistently. The wifes Q7 works brilliantly on contrast with her slightly newer kit. So, I put in disc 2, it only finds the Fone to update, starts but as soon at i tries to move past 0% it fails with error 152. I've tried it a dozen times, rebooted inbetween etc. Engine running etc. I know phone modules are documented as problematic, but everyone seems to get through in 1 or 2 tries. Am I missing something.... |
I think that disc 2 is the bluetooth module update Ian so you could either have a trashed BT module or it could just be a dodgy update disc. Is the disc a CDR or CDRW? Sometimes CDRW's don't work as well as Write once discs for software updates.

Its a brand new pukka original Audi CD, not a burn....
It wants to update the "fonehandy" from version 700 to 999 if that means anything..... |
fonehandy? not handyvorb2 (which is what I have).
Have you done disk 3? I'd to that first, then go back to 2. Pretty sure that's what I had to do before mine would do the bluetooth. But I think 999 is the latest version. |
Think you have to go back a few versions to make the phone work correctly....
The S8 amazingly was already on 5570 when I bought it. Very surprised. |
Sorry, yes, its handyvorb2.....
I dont have any earlier versions to play with, but gone upto 5570 and still no joy with the bluetooth. Ironically, the actual upgrade to 5570 was a breeze. Very painless..... When it comes to disc 2 and and the bluetooth, it sits on 0% for about 30 secs then the instant it changes the status from 'opening file' to 'programming flash' it barfs with error 152 :( Maybe someone has a known good CD2 they could lend me?.... This one looks factory mint to me, but dont know what else to try .... |
I burned mine from some images out there, could probably upload the files somewhere for you to burn.

Thats exactly what mine does and I cannot get the phone module to update. I had copies then tried originals and still nothing. In fact since Apple updated the Iphone software mine is playing up and disconnects after a couple of calls now! Resorted to a damn earpiece  Although it works ok on the bluetooth for a short while, the phone book has never worked. I would also be very interested if any one knows a fix. Mine gets started on disc two and just sticks there and I have left it for nearly an hour! Is it possible to load an earlier version and upgraded through the various releases, I was originally on a very early version and went straight to 5570 everything else worked fine other than it needed the TV re-setting ( although its not digital so no issues now:ROFL:) Cheers Glyn |
it might well be possible that the bluetooth module is fried and needs replacing?
|
I'm pretty sure I was outside for well over an hour doing the phone alone. And it needed run through at least twice.
Given the size of the update, a pretty shocking time, but it's better than a fried module. Interestingly, my iPhone worked fine before and after :) |
I do believe you need to progressively upgrade any module that doesn't jump straight away....

Assuming my disk files didn't work either then :)
You could always risk the 5150 disks... |
I would be interested in trying this with mine if anyone has an earlier version for me to try
Happy to pay postage unless there's another way of getting them copied? I linked the iphone to the car today and it worked and I made three perfect phone calls before getting home! :) if I could get that to work every day like that I would be happy! Normally I get a few minutes and out blows out the BT connection and will only re connect when I have shut down and come back to the car later. I have bee using an damn ear thingy but really miss the convenience of the BT setup :( Cheers Glyn |
