Mini meet in Wrexham/Chester Saterday 11-2012

Well who fancies a mini meet then, this Saterday 11-2012

pub lunch and a catch up and eyeball of each others cars +++
Chester is quite a historic town and is quite picturesque.

Ideas ? thoughts on where and what to do ?:D

Ooh so tempted and FIL picks up his new (to him) 8 on Saturday morning so he could come along, if the MIL doesn't decide she wants chauffeuring around for the day !

I'm in Wrexham - here would be a great setting (Gresford, 10 mins from Chester), I'm biased as it's my local +++

Food & beer are great and if we get a few signing up I could try and book a table (it fills up quick)

Was going to spend the day rebuilding my front end (arms) but I could put that off a week

Stuff it I'm in :D

I could bring the VAGCOM if anybody needs a scan or coding +++

daviesbike 8th February 2012 12:27 PM

Thats the spirit !! Good man haha i was going to spend it putting my new arms on for the mot but now have next week off so i have all day monday to do it ready for tuesday +++

im up for that, it will be me and the misses so just two of us for food its a beautiful day today and the forecast for the week end is also nice

daviesbike 8th February 2012 12:28 PM

Ps i would like some coding done +++

Tried to start last weekend but the pinch bolts on the top of the arms are seized solid (head came off one side so left the other - its still not moved after 300 miles !). I've got A8 parts to send me a pair of replacement hub carriers without the arms - this project is getting expensive, though with replacement arms, hub carriers & hubs & new bolts it should (fingers crossed) be a breeze.

I couldn't find a local engineering shop willing to try and get the bolts out :-(, either press, drill or spark erosion !

I'll probably have my boys in tow (Mrs is working) and maybe the in-laws so sounds like a plan.

I hope the weather is nice, the boys have rugby at the weekend and they've missed a couple of weeks due to the weather.

I'll PM you my mobile # so we can chat

The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned and I'll have my kids too

Godders 9th February 2012 08:36 AM

Looks like we're getting some interest so let's get some numbers sorted and if the Pant is ok with everybody I'll try and book at table, so :

1) Godders + 2 bin lids = 3

daviesbike 9th February 2012 08:59 AM

1) Godders + 2 bin lids = 3
2) Daviesbike + The misses

its all looking good at the moment im sure there could be others to attend ? im sure if anyone is with in say 30-40 mins drive away its got to be worth a bit of pug grub +++

Conan_the_Librarian 10th February 2012 08:24 AM

1) Godders + 2 bin lids = 3
2) Daviesbike + The misses
3) CtL + 1 adult

Godders 10th February 2012 08:34 AM

Excellent CtL

Assuming we're all ok with the Pant Yr Ochain what time can you get there ?

I've already booked a table from 12pm, it books up quick especially for groups so I didn't want us scratching around for places to accommodate us all - though we could change it or venue

Conan_the_Librarian 10th February 2012 12:23 PM

Midday is fine. :)

tintin 10th February 2012 03:00 PM

Sorry Guys, I'd normally make the 40 mile trip to join you, but can't tomorrow due to a mix of family commitments and (probably...) the Man Utd v Liverpool match. Next time...:(

grizz 10th February 2012 05:06 PM

I'll pop over in the "6" as well ..+++

+++ Wot they said! Nice to meet Sub-Zero (glad your sorting the 8 out) and Daviesbike again and Godders and Grizz for the first time. Mum enjoyed her meal so son is back in favour after suggesting a Saturday lunch with cars involved!!!

Godders 11th February 2012 06:47 PM

Great afternoon everyone, thanks for all turning up and it was nice to meet you all.

CtL, glad your mum enjoyed lunch - thanks to her I think she kept my mother in law occupied ;)

Grizz, thanks for bringing the kids - it kept mine occupied and only moderatley annoying

Glad we managed to get Guy's car coded the way he wanted though it was trial and error with the "undocumented" central locking codes.

Was very nice to see you all again today and meet new faces, thank you very much Bry for coding my car even though they were american codes i cant belive they worked perfectly +++ top man, i like having new toys to play with it rekindles your love with the car again something else to play with, hear is a couple of pictures i did not take many sadly i was overcome by the rs6 and so busy chatting that i forgot to ask to go for a spin, but there is always another time, i bet 700bhp feels like a rocket ship when you think of how well Amars rs6 plus goes with 475bhp an extra 225 must be crazy,
