RNSE Help !!!
 

All,

My RNS-E has started to not like my 2007 DVD Navigation disk and on Saturday I am off to the French Alps:mad:

Anyone got a DVD for the RNS-E that I can try to see if its the unit or my disc (have tried a CD in the drive and that appears to work OK):)

Or any advice you can give me please??

What time are you off to the Alps on Saturday? Can try and pop one in the post tomorrow for you.

Have you run a cd (not DVD) lens cleaner through it a few times? Decent make like Ixos recommended. Works for mine running a cloned DVD every 6 months or so

I don't think I kept my old oe disc as it wouldn't work anymore after a firmware update from the newer cloned disc

If you're Surrey way welcome to borrow my lens cleaner and/or 2012 nav dvd

Amar - not sure what time would have thought about lunchtime.
Adrian - Do you use a slot loading cleaner as I can't find these and the ones I do find say they should not be put in a slot loading drive :Confused:

Don't think it says one way or the other but imagine its not designed for slot load - its been in and out of mine a few times as well as Amar's and Ranj's rns-e and it's been fine

Think Audi recommend not cleaning it at all tbh!

i may be able to lay my hands on a copy. will see if i can grab a disk for you. i have no way of testing it though.

Nope - tried it a few times and they don't work.
Thinks my DVD writer is not good enough:mad:

Don't worry about it. Will try the CD cleaner tomorrow and if that fails will have to use Co-Pilot on my phone.

I sent a spare older ORIGINAL DVD of Western Europe to a member here the other day. Turned out he had RNS-C and wanted a CD not DVD.
It's from 2003 though. :(

Anyway, since you were here, i've hatched a plan, had it sanity checked (twice) sorted my next set of wheels and started authoring the D3's 'for sale' advert... ;)
