How about a picture Gog? Only box I have extra is the Connects2 music thingy but doubt that would be in the boot as it needs to connect directly to the rear of the head unit:Confused:

The heated screen one Gog? Or is there another one in there?

That's the one you need to take out and run the wires that I stripped back a chunk for you to re-fit a screen into the other car.

Those look like the terminal blocks + attached wires for the screen heater control unit. What happened to the control unit? Is it a replacement you are after?

im trying to retrofit screen to my car and need to understand all wires etc if i can see yours that could help thanks

Here's a picture with the terminal cover off. The wires are (from the left):

1. yellow/Blk (going to separate push connector).
2. Red (to clamp connection).
3. Brown (to clamp connection).
4. Brown/Blk (to clamp connection).
5. red / Blk (to clamp connection).

Does this help?

I have looked on the Mitchell's wiring diagram for 2001 A8, but there is no mention of the front heated screen on the diagramme for "Defoggers" on page 8.

no i have sorted these wires out with help from richard its just these other bits im sure if they are for heated screen or something else .do you have these moduels in the back of the carpet screen unit ????

I will try and check this afternoon. I work from home so can be flexible with my time - to an extent!!

Pretty sure the wiring didn't go anywhere else than from the rear screen to the unit, then to the front screen (and the two battery connections)

hi richard i have all the cabels that you told me ,its just they ones in pics i dont what they are for before goes to scraps

They are the standard main fuse holders in any facelift car, nothing to do with heated screen... +++
