High Spec D3 4.2 A8 LPG for Sale...
9 Attachment(s)
Yes, my Motorway mile muncher is up for grabs. I've recently picked up an S4 and Q7 as they were cheap, and that means something, somewhere has to go.
This car is the highest spec, by far the cheapest to run and yet it boils down to the simple fact that this was first in, so first out.... The important stuff: * 1st Reg 15/12/2003 * Thus Band K for Tax Disc * 3 Former keepers, 2 of which are/were forum members * Discrete Prins LPG conversion. Certificated & registered online * Below average miles @ 99869 * MOT to Sept 23rd 2013 * TAX till end Jan 2013 * Cheaper to fuel than a 3.0 Tdi. The service history is comprehensive, with several wallets of information, including all previous MOT's and a cambelt change at 46K miles in 2009 at Heritage Audi, complete with original Audi receipt. Since I've had it, its had front pads, a 20K service and gearbox fluid change, replaced the nearside rear wheel bearing and a new coolant header tank. I've also fitted a set of genuine 20" Audi S8 'RS4 style' wheels, powdercoated black. I know these aren't to everyones taste, and I wouldnt have ordinarily picked them, but as black wheels seem to be 'in' it does give the car a more modern feel. Anyway, you could paint them back to silver, or you can have the 20" 9 spokes that originally came with it instead, but those wheels will need some rubber. Full spec is in my signiture, but key items : * Radar Cruise (ACC) - Perfectly working and much sought after * Solar sunroof - Fantastic for summer, whether driving or parked up ! * Twin pane UV & Heat reflective glass - Stops heat build up * Heated Windscreen - Clears an iced up screen in < 1 min * Late revision Audi bluetooth phone module, supporting iphones etc * DVB-T Digital TV tuner * Audi AMI Music interface with Apple ipod/iphone connector (USB also possible) * Sport spec - Suspension, steering wheel, seats * Xenons, and adaptive cornering ones at that * Advanced key - Keyless entry and start - A must in this class of car * It also has an ipod/iphone connector under the armrest which goes into the A/V inputs of the tuner so you can play videos on the MMi screen if you wish. * Nice clean interior, non smoker/pets as far as I can tell The LPG System: Spare wheel well tank, completely hidden leaving the normal size boot available. The filler is hidden in the regular filler flap, so no signs of a conversion from the outside. The tank does around 200 miles to a fill, with a fill costing < £40. Prins is considered one of the very best, and running on gas is seamless, with automatic switchover to petrol if gas runs out. Points to note: * Small amount of corrosion on the black triangles on the upper rear door. they're a common problem on the D2 and D3 and could be sorted by a bodyshop quite easily. * Front Suspension arms are perfectly fine, but in cold weather they might make a few squeaks or groans until the heat of the engine warms them through a bit. This is again quite common of the D2 / D3. There is no play, and nothing recorded in the recent MOT * There is a little bit of wear to the drivers seat, but its nothing obvious and is quite consistent with age and mileage * The car has tyre pressure monitor, and the S8 wheels I fitted have TPM senders. As there is no spare wheel (or in deed room in the wheel well for one) the system is currently turned off as it just errors. If you're desperately bothered, it might be possible to code out the spare and have it running on the 4 main ones (if they're the right senders), but personally it holds no interest to me. * The rear end if completely debadged. Not my cup of tea, but also not bothered me enough to start sticking new badges back on. I guess it works with the black wheels look quite well... Given the condition, mileage and spec, looking for £7000, or £6600 without AMI and Digital TV. A really nice D3 that might suit a D2'er looking to upgrade. Straight cash preferred, but P/X considered at trade values etc etc. Some photos: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1352629913 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1352629913 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1352629913 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1352629913 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1352629913 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1352629913 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1352629913 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1352629913 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1352629913 |

I know....... SWMBO will be home in a few hours so will discuss with her first.........damn:mad:
|
Another excellent reason for joining this forum, I'd be really interested in buying, especially if you'd consider part exchange on mine?
|
Q7 4.2 is nice.... Wanted one of them but got the RR Sport with the TDV8 instead.
|
|
I'm interested too, but I would have to sell my s8 first :/

If I didnt have the S4, a sporty number would have been oh too tempting I'm sure.... I think I'd better pass before I wind up in bother... |

But I'm sure it gets a shift on quite nicely +++ |
I'm a realist more than a sentimentalist, my A8 owes me nothing, I wouldn't be offended by a conversation. The thought of it being put to good use thrills me more that selling it privately to someone who doesn't appreciate what it is.
|
No go i'm afraid so will have to bail out on this one  :(
|
So glad I don't have the spare cash for a TVR at the minute.. I consider one every now and again... along with some daft stuff..
But anyway.. Back to Ian's thread :) |
shame about the colour +++ if it was black i would snap it up.
its strange that there are no heated seats but yet it has ACC ? solar roof ect .... |
Quote:
Retrofitting heated seats is easy enough..... Heated windscreens, sunroof, ACC - now thats a lorra lorra work.... |

Dont fancy a W12 Do you ......:D http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=5592 |

But its not black :D Amongst a few other items which might hinder your private hire business +++ |

Maybe you tried selling it on the newer looks, more reliable, cheaper to run and thus cheaper skiing holidays in future but how about : Honey - It even has dual vanity mirrors per side - one regular, one magnified :p And then theres the passenger seat memory, so the missus is guaranteed her favourite position no matter who's been in ;) And the single bestest, most sexist feature I can think of would be the pull down hooks in the boot so that she can do the shopping and hang all the carrier bags up neatly without everything rolling around in the boot.... +++ |

I moved mine to the inner headcloth next to the sunroof to save stiletto heel marks on the paintwork if the sunroof was open :ROFL: |

I will try all of the above tonight - I will let you all know which ward I'm in later on tomorrow so that you can send get well cards etc  |
Also it has 3 keys.
2 main keys (one for you and her eh Andy ?) + wallet key Fingerprint recognition however can store up to 4 drivers seat/steering wheel/seatbelt/climate control/radio/mirrors settings so even if you all share 1 key, it'll still know whos driving and adjust accordingly +++ |
Oh, and forgot to mention the plate comes with the car. I've no use for it, and it does a nice job of hiding the true age +++
|
If Dezzy was looking for a new 8 i'd have in a snap because it's ticking all my boxes. I can't see you'll be stuck with it Ian, but we have to do something on price.
Did you know copper wire was invented by a Devon man and Yorkshire man fighting over a penny |

I was only planting the seed of sale, I didnt expect a mad rush lol. It is still for sale at the moment, and will be until some readies change hands... ;) I should have run an auction.... |

Oooh.....That is a tempting car. It's only a year or two newer than my D2, but the mileage is low. The Wheel tank is a bit small as I get about 250 out of my behind the seat tank, but livable. No heated seat or just no rear heated seats ???
Will that stereo take the phatbox hard drive. I know the older ones do. Also what is the sat-nav actually like....My Kenwood/garmin set-up has cameras and current maps, but you really can't swap the stereo in the D3 IIRC as it is intergrated in the whole system. Hmmm....Wondering what my D2 would be worth PX to you guys! Lee |
What would it cost and how difficult would it be to retrofit heated seats (Ideally front and back)
One of the 'must have' options up here I'm afraid. What BHP did these have compared to the D2 S8? |
Quote:
Sat nav is very useable. No full postcode match just like d2, but European wide and fast. Got two viewings lined up this weekend, but if they fall through we could talk about what yours might be worth to me. +++ |
Quote:
335 bhp if memory serves, it with 6 gears, economy is better than d2 also |
Thanks for all the interest guys, I've just taken a deposit so consider her off the market +++
