The food was scrumptious last year, the A8 Parts guys put on a proper spread. It's the best open day I've been to. I'll be binging the RS 6, not the D4 though sorry guys. I need excuses to drive it and this is a perfect long run.

Dave@A8parts 18th March 2013 02:26 PM

If anyone has anything specific that they would like to have a look at on the day... ie blow all the airbags in an A8 at the same time..we are open to suggestions...??

I really want to try and make it too. If I can make it could I please try to test-fit the modified pedal box in a A8 shell with no carpets to see how much room there is to work with for the clutch pedal.

Crumbs. What the heck are we going to race you in this year. Your old one made the W12 look like it stalled.... ;)

I think he should bring the D4 along so its a fair contest - A8 against A8 lol :p

Singh 18th March 2013 08:54 PM

Tell you what, yesterday, I floored it in the wet and it slithered and snaked about and lit all four wheels for 2-3 secs before eventually launching. Not a big deal in a performance car normally, but no other quattro car I've had has done that. I did have the ESP off, but still. It's just scarily powerful with 967NM.

Took the D4 to Solihull yesterday, it's pure luxury that thing, but this is a mission for the missile I'm afraid. +++

emmm, how about trying to blow up a RS 6 V10 Saloon, sure that would make good viewing:p

Singh 18th March 2013 10:23 PM

I'm afraid the industrial estate we are on is just a concrete jungle however there is some countryside a few miles away which i'm sure you can find somewhere to pitch for the night! +++

Hi Goran

Happy to keep an A8 D2 bare bodyshell here for you to try your pedal box in on the day!

Please let us know if you need any parts putting to one side?

Cheers
Dave

Goran 21st March 2013 09:56 PM

Thanks Dave thats great!
I think I have all I need for the pedal box.
However, for a completely different part of the project, do you have any A8 manually operated front seats please? I want to try fitting Recaro cushions & leather onto the manual seat frame :)
and if that works I would like to buy both front seat frames.

Thanks

Goran

Hi Goran - We can certainly keep a set of manual seat bases for you to have a look at on the day. kind regards, Dave.

Goran 22nd March 2013 09:07 AM

Thanks Dave, thats fantastic!
I didnt realise you had a set of manual seats, they are so hard to find in the UK. I'll strip down my spare recaro and bring all the foam and leather.
