Excellent day and great to meet so many folk. Many thanks to all PMS staff for the weighwatchers spread. Went home with boot load of stuff and a belly full of flapjacks and cake. :)

You obviously didnt hear what I said about you after you left...

Great day - Lovely to see everyone. I know it was a long journey for many but it was great to see so many faces - old and new.

Catering was fantastic as ever, well organised, plenty of room and even the weather held out for us. Couldnt have been better from my perspective +++

Wait - Well, actually it could. I'd like to wish all kinds curses upon those people that fell for Daves plan of 'give it a wash, put it inside in the dark and put the knackered hood down' in order to get people to vote for keeping that green clog of a car that he calls 'his convertible' - My one chance to see the bloody ornament finally recycled into tin cans, and you lot ruin it... Pah... :D

Great Day Out

623 miles into my 840 mile weekend journey and time for a few words on yesterdays even.

It's great to see the open day going from strength to strength with a significantly greater turnout of 8s from last year. The Saturday night was very pleasant and a slightly odd experience taking over the waiting section of a Toby Carvery and sharing a few sherbets with those that arrived the day before! :)

A huge thank you for David and the Staff at Prestige Motor Services for putting on the day and hosting us in grand style. I heard lots of admiring comments about the premises and service, all deserved. +++

The feast for lunch was sublime, cake with everything and cake to go home with, what more could a small boy of 53 3/4 want. I didn't take many photos but I know your romping reporter was there with his camera and of course Conner videoed and photographed everything and they will be up shortly no doubt.

Good to see you all. Next is the annual event in the Forest of Dean. Get your names down now! +++

Thanks Raving Reporter - Romping Reporter checking in :D

Can I add my thanks to all of you who made it yesterday (and those that came along on Saturday night for a beer!) - it was the biggest gathering of 8's I've seen in a while so it would be great if you could all get along to the Annual Meet in June as it has all the makings of being a cracker of an event too!

I'll add my personal thanks to David and all of his team at PMS for all their hard work and planning and for letting everyone play with many of his parts. . . .ermm I mean letting us loose all over his premises. . . umm well you know what I mean!
:p

Pics will be posted later and I know that Connor has taken some great ones too.

Lastly thanks to CtL, my personal chauffeur for putting up with me as his co-pilot for the trip, and there were many aspects of this trip I will find memorable, and one particular aspect which I very much want to forget!!

It was a fantastic day, many thanks to A8Parts. I now have a nice A8 grille on my car, it looks better to me than the S8 one, thanks! :)

Also thanks to Amar for giving me a ride in his RS6, it is an amazing car and a true supercar. It was like a rocket, if it had wings it would take off :). I have never been in anything that quick. Thanks! +++

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all who attended on Sunday from myself and all the team here. It was a great turn out this year so it looks like we had better start planning the next one!

Please can you all bring doggy bags next year as the left overs are causing havoc with productivity - afternoon naps have become mandatory this week!

Looking forward to next year and as ever we welcome suggestions, however way out they may seem, for ideas and activities on the day :)

I'd just like to add my own thanks to the hosts and all those that made me feel very welcome at my first ever meet, it was an excellent day indeed.

I have to admit, I was apprehensive about meeting a crowd of established friends but from getting out of the car on arrival and being greeted by Connor, my concerns soon disappeared. Many thanks to Neil for introducing himself and taking me for a waft in David's W12, yet another Audi added to my "I'll have one one day" list. That ride also demonstrated what proper brakes feel like (I nearly pushed my feet through the floor pan at the first junction!!) and convinced me my A8 needed some improvement in that area, so I came away with some S8 Brembo's, drilled discs and FL hubs.........at 50% off it'd have been rude not to!! ;) They should be fitted early next week, I'll let you know my thoughts.

After meeting Brian, Neil, Jim, Gordon and several others I didn't get the names of, namely gninnam, big blue whale, MAM (thanks for the B&O demo, amazing!) and receiving several compliments on my PF poverty spec A8 I'm looking forward to meeting everyone again at a future event, thanks again +++
