Dear forum readers,
Well your raving reporters has once again battled through France, crossed Belgium, driven through Holland and crossed deep into friendly territory. After numerous problems We are once again at Edersee and gazing longingly one manual S8s, W12 D2s, 5.2 litre V10s amongst other things. There are fewer 8s here than before, but the venue and atmosphere are still great. The trip out wasn't without its usual problems, by we managed to stay together for longer than usual until a weak bladder forced a division of forces, followed by a major traffic jam that again split the brave few until we were spread over half of northern Germany and arrived from different directions at different times. I'm now on my 3rd Grossen beer and outside a very nice steak.
A photo of the aluminium here on my arrival. Darren and Refro an hour behind.

Now I know I have been remiss in my reporting but I do have a pathetic excuse. I didn't bring my laptop, I brought my tablet. Which meant I couldn't get my photos off my DSLR onto the tablet! :o
Anyway, the Saturday morning more 8s arrived and by the time we set out to cruise to the country fun park which was our destination there were over 20 cars. Several W12s and lots of D2s and 3s. At the park we had lunch and a few of the braver souls rode the toboggan run of death! I, of course, being an intrepid raving reporter was amongst them. Could I catch the 5 year old German child ahead of me and ram him off the track? Could I hell as like! :tuttut:
A photo or two......

More to follow......

Lots of nice cars, thanks for the update. Cool pose on the sled.
Do I spy a espressobraun A8 next to your S8, or is it just a trick of the light?

Some great pics... Still trying to decide if the 'purple' W12 is special sock or sick bucket.

Well I'm back to earth with a bump having had a great weekend in Germany. I had a ball over the four days, though next year we must avoid the Friday traffic jams if possible. Great to meet up with Mike and Darren, plus better halves and have good chuckle. Lots of miles covered, mostly at enhanced pace, and a great chance to stretch the cars legs, I hit 151mph on the autobahn going home :) Driving on the Nordschleife was its usual mixture of adrenaline, pleasure and fear of stuffing it. I didn't need my spare brakes this time, but the tyres got a toasting. Still on a bit of a high from the 4 days, but well and truly anchored to my desk. I took off on Monday evening to come back early to UK and had a great high speed run home that kept the tiredness at bay. Got to Calais in well under 4 hours having averaged 83mph and one flash from a speed camera in Belgium.

Was prompted to post today when I found this video of a aluminium super limo getting it wrong.
