Number Plateless Grill
 

I'm not a fan of the front number plate at all.
Most cars look better without and after talking to a mate whos changing his grill to one without the number and it got me wondering if there was an option for the 8.

I've had a look and can't find much.

Anyone looked in to this or does it look really bad on the 8?

you can now get electric or manual fold away plate holders that slide out from under your bumper or in a slot in your grille or bumper or failing that number plate holders with a blind that comes down over the plate when you're showing the car

For when your showing your car to the gatso????

Umm well of course it happens to have that added benefit too lol :rolleyes:

I've seen that kit and its a bit of kimick.
I can't see it lasting long or the police being happy about you having it.
its also not something that I'd want to fit really.

thats a US style grille for a D4 for those states that dont need a front plate. I think on previous models the US style version was with a blanking plate like the D2 style one shown HERE
*EDIT They did a front plate filler on the D3 like this one HERE but I guess you would need a grille or bumper or both that would accept that filler

I do wish I could find the d4 grill like this to fit the d3 think it looks so much better horizontal than vertical

it will be considerably more than that after import tax and carriage I expect but looks good!

IMO the RS style grill with the sluice box mesh is too boy racer for an 8

I agree with you it it.

The D4 grill or W12 grill is lovely. Possibly too much chrome for my liking but if it was all black would it be going down the boy racer looks again?

I would say yes but that is just my opinion, we are all different and entirely within our right to do whatever we want.

I have been looking for the d4 style grill and chrome fog light surrounds so going the bling route if I can lol

Any idea how different the D4 grill is to the D3?

I dont have a comparison, did wonder if it was possible to gut the middle out of a grill but probably look a right mess.

That liquid chroming looks good and so easy to use.

I wonder what its like to take off if you wanted to go black or standard again.

It would be nice to get a D4 and a D3 grill together to compare.

How much is a D4 grill? To much to play with I bet.
