Shuddering in drive with foot on brake!??
 

hmmmm started her up from cold and selected drive with foot on the brake and the car started shuddering,

it pulled away ok drove for a minute stopped at lights and with foot on brake and it was still doing it, after about a 15 minute drive everything was ok,

its never done this before i have only had the car 8 month and done about 3500 miles and this is the first issue around the transmission i have had!

is it time to sell on? or am i just playing russian roulette?? :ROFL:

When was the box last serviced (flushed & oil changed)? and what's your mileage?

Hi m8 box was servised a few thousand mile back currently on around 160500 miles,

I have a feeling its not the box now and it looks like its pointing to a slight rough idle when started from cold because when drive is selected with foot on the brake the idle is amplified through the box to give a shudder.

Could just be a one off, especially if it's never done it before. Maybe even due to duff fuel.

yes quite possible, ill see whats its like tomorrow as i have just filled the tank (again lol)

Fixed!
 

OK i fixed the problem, starting off with replacing the fuel filter then HT leads and finally the one that won 1st place >>> replaced the spark plugs <<< :) +++

Now she runs like a dream on Denso iridium power plugs gaped at 1mm.

No i will not be going to the meet! not my cup of tea! I have much better things to do with my time :) i don't understand why you lot do meets :ROFL:

So, yes, you not only should have known, you did know, and you've ignored me ever since! I thought my memory was bad! :D

But thanks for letting me know; there are still 5 others that said that they were 'possibles' who keep ignoring my PMs. I think I'll give up and just assume they're not coming.

Obviously i must have been very drunk as i cant even remember typing that :D

also i have many many forums in which i am subscribed to and responding to all the pm's from administrators is just not done so don't take it personally buddy its just not my thing ;)

the only time i use forums is when i am stuck trying to fix something and most of the time i end up fixing the problem my self through trial and error and then posting my fixes so some other users can have it easy :)

this is my first A8 but i have owned A3's A4's Vw's Seat's mostly all diesel so i am new to all this petrol malarkey!
