Annual Meet - the hollow mountain

After today's final pre-visit to the Annual Meet route, (more from David later) we have another 'attraction' en route for Saturday's tour:

www.visitcruachan.co.uk

We've booked 2 tours (each lasting 30 minutes) at a special rate of £5 per head.

But we must confirm numbers ASAP.

Please let me know on this thread if you want to visit the 'hollow mountain' (it's a tour in a mini bus right into the hollowed out mountain where the power station is housed) and, if we can get numbers confirmed no later than Thursday 15 May, then I'll get it all sorted.

For those that don't want to take this tour, we have other free 'attractions' in store, so you won't have to hang around waiting for those that do. :D

steamship 3rd May 2014 03:36 PM

Architex_mA8tey 3rd May 2014 05:33 PM

tintin 3rd May 2014 05:57 PM

+1 for me please...

M-A8 3rd May 2014 10:14 PM

As my trip is still uncertain I would say no, but if I get there I would go. I may actually go to Glasgow on Thursday, do a gearbox service @ Mackies, stay over night, wait for the train of 8s from South/London area and join the near Glasgow.

But, now after incident this morning I defo need a respray the car, most of it as planned anyway, do full suspension replacement at the front due to teh dry ball joint sound just for the sake of it, gearbox service of course, wheel refurb cos just the one which got damaged this morning would just look shajt ;)
A lot to ask in less than 5 weeks.

I wouldn't go in so scratched car there, it would be an embarrassment !!!!!
Plus I will be pushing the car on the bendy roads so gearbox is a must same as the suspension.

I had a bump on the way to my first meet and arrived with a broken rear light cluster and a dent in the wing!

Luckily. I'd got in touch with A8 Parts on the way down, and Dave called into the unit on the way, picked up a light cluster and fitted it for me at the meet! +++

So scratched and bent cars are still welcome. :)

chucklestinlegs 4th May 2014 09:36 AM

Add Michelle and me for that please

goglawrie 4th May 2014 11:02 AM

Me and wife and 2 kids thanks

Conquistador 4th May 2014 12:46 PM

2 tickets for me please!

HPsauce 4th May 2014 08:28 PM

Yes, 2 tickets for us please. +++
As soon as I mentioned it to SWMBO she said, oh yes, that's by Loch Awe and one of her friends had done the tour fairly recently.

David's8 5th May 2014 10:20 AM

I think that people will find this appeals to a broad range of people - its not just for technically obsessed engineers. There is also a really good visitor centre / cafe/ shop at the entrance on the shore of Loch Awe for those who dont want to go inside the mountain. And for those who dont want to go on this trip, we will probably split the group at this point and one of us will lead off to the next items of interest.

The_Laird 5th May 2014 10:32 AM

First tour full already! +++

notorious 5th May 2014 01:08 PM

Count me in

The_Laird 5th May 2014 03:22 PM

And 3 already on bus 2. We weren't sure about this one at first, but it's proving popular. Even SWMBO wants to go! :)

PsYcHe 5th May 2014 04:37 PM

4 of us please :)

ainarssems 6th May 2014 05:30 AM

 spoken like the true non-OCD member of this forum you are! And, anyway M_A8, you wont be pushing it on these roads too much as there are too many tourists and coaches!

Dezzy, As you obviously have kids with you, - unless you are bringing the oldies? - the price for them is less than the £5 concession price - 6 - 16 yrs £2.50, under six years are free.

The concession we got was for over 60s! Somehow - and I cant think how - Jim and I managed to convince them that the whole party consisted of "senior" citizens! ;)

The_Laird 6th May 2014 08:30 AM

Dezzy, Richard and Gordon: please let me know if your kids are all under 16.

Thanks
