Best tyres for 3000-5000 miles per month?
 

Any recommendations?
I have a 2006 A8 3.0 TDI Quattro Sport and do mostly motorway driving. The longer they last the better, dont mind if they noisey since its so quiet inside the A8 anyway.

I can't recommend tyres for a D3, but don't go for noisy ones! The quietness of the '8 will make tyre noise seem even worse and a cheaper tyre will spoil the driving experience. I had Nankangs on my D2 when I bought it and I thought a wheel bearing was going! The joy when I fitted a decent tyre was wonderful. :)

I'm about to try Toyos which Marcin (who has a D3) highly recommends

I currently run Falken ZIEX 914 ecorun as these are the mid-range ones supplied by Audi in my size. Very pleased with them at £115 each fitted (tyre leader).
It's hard to say if they are best but better than all previous tyres and do you want hard wearing tyres to reduce running costs or the inconvenience of replacements?

Toyo's are quieter than Michelins and the wear is very good and grip is also very good in wet and dry. They are Audi OEM on certain models, S5 and A6 if I remember well.

I've just put four Kuhmo Estate Sports on the S8. Silky smooth and very quiet, but at the moment I have no idea on the longevity. These are 20's, and I paid £123+vat each which I thought was a very good price.

My experience is the opposite (though not on the same vehicle, admittedly): I find Toyo's noisier, with less grip than the Michelins. Michelins last longer than any other tyres I've tried.

Kumho's KU31 are nice, I've had them before but wear wasn't fantastic.

My Michelins super sport are noisier than previous Toyo Proxes T1 Sport (dual compound)

Thanks for the recommendations, must admit I have not even heard of many of the suggested tyre brands.

Looking to reduce costs overall so would like a hard wearing tyre but not at too much of a reduction in drive quality.

Go for Kumho ECSTA KU31 then, cheaper by about 50quid per tyre than Toyo's and you wont be disappointed

What tyres have you got on now??

I have Pirelli p-zeros, didn't have much of a choice as I needed them done that day.

It will save you couple of hundreds each change, maybe a bit more, slightly less grip but wear should be better. Give it a go mate, you wont kill your self on them. They are good tyres and cheap
I think the story behind KU31 was that it is a Korean tyre but developed in UK for UK roads and weather so you can't go wrong with it
Many happy guys in here, plus me, also I can see on regular basis bigger and heavier new ish S classes on them as well same as the Jags and BMs.
