I'd like to see if anyone is up for a Xmas meet - we normally try and meet up in between Xmas and New Year if we do, how does everyone feel about that?

M-A8 14th October 2014 04:31 PM

Count on me Neil +++

mannyo 14th October 2014 07:14 PM

in typical fashion, I'll be the only one in the office between christmas and new year. Be good if you can make it a weekend.

Might be back home but possibly a family meal one day, so it will depend on details.
Maybe start another thread specifically on an Xmas meet?..... ;)

tonupkid 14th October 2014 10:32 PM

Christmas - New year can be tight, with all the family stuff and some work, but i'll be there if I can.

ainarssems 15th October 2014 05:47 AM

Finish work at 6am on 27th and back to work at 10pm on 28th so theoretically can make either day but all depends on travel distance. Don't really want to go more then 50-60 miles after or before nightshift at work.

M-A8 15th October 2014 08:34 AM

I'm off every year for Christmas break between 19th Dec and 5th Jan so I'm up for it +++

HPsauce 15th October 2014 08:58 AM

Any thoughts on whereabouts it might be?

I'd probably find the week after Xmas better than the 27th/28th weekend, especially if there's a bit of travel involved.

I guess we are never going to please everyone - this is the weekend in between xmas and new year, which is historically when we try to meet. most people have a lul in between xmas and new year, and many are off work but trying to fit in with everyone's plans is never going to be achieved!

Location-wise, I'm happy to accept suggestions for location, but it needs to be easily accessible to as many as possible and have good parking where 10-20 cars can meet and preferably have some accommodation nearby thats not too expensive for those that are prepared to travel across to it. In the past few years we have met up near to the M40 at Leamington Spa area and also just off the motorway at Stoke on Trent.

Borys 15th October 2014 09:58 AM

I'm up for it too
Would be my first one :-)

HPsauce 15th October 2014 10:21 AM

The Leopard at Bishops Tachbrook seemed good for many, I recall standing outside in the horizontal sleet there about 3 years ago.......

The_Laird 15th October 2014 10:59 AM

I know I won't make it - this time of year is a big family event for me and the 'lull' between Xmas and New Year is a traditional time for a gathering at my place for much music (generated by family), eating and drinking! There are birthdays too, so a trip 'down south' would lose more Brownie Points than I'd ever hope to accumulate.

M-A8 15th October 2014 11:04 AM

My place?? I have 30 parking spaces for myself :D

tintin 15th October 2014 01:50 PM

No idea about Christmas yet (and still shocked that shops are stocking Christmas stuff already…), but in principle yes, especially if Leamington/Stoke (or anywhere North of there :D) is the chosen location..+++

Hi Guys and Gals,

I'd almost certainly be up for it, and will keep a close eye on this thread!

Hope everyone is well,
Best regards to all,
Steve

IT 22nd October 2014 03:15 PM

For once, I have quite a bit of time coming up over xmas, so its not a definite 'no'.

Like most others, gonna be subject to location.....

Goran 22nd October 2014 08:05 PM

Is the car park big enough to do doughnuts if its iced over?
:D

tintin 22nd October 2014 08:13 PM

Now THAT sounds like fun….+++

Architex_mA8tey 22nd October 2014 09:16 PM

Yeah thanks guys. . . .youre not the one whose contact details they have and who tells them that we are all responsible owners of Audis finest saloon cars lol

briang9 22nd October 2014 09:38 PM

put us down for a possible, depends on date, location etc and if we are allowed out;)

tc4332 29th October 2014 06:39 PM

Me too.
Would be a first for me.
Stoke by the M6 would be wunnerful for yours truly, but that is me being selfish.
I'll be in London over the Remembrance Sunday weekend fom Friday pm until Monday midday, but without the A8. It's a Virgin Journey.

Trophy885 15th November 2014 10:31 AM

Best regards to one and all,

OK guys n gals here's what we are going with -

Xmas meet will be on SUNDAY 28th DECEMBER 2014
At
The Leopard Inn
Oakley Wood Road, Bishops Tachbrook, Leamington Spa. CV33 9RN
http://www.leopardinn.co.uk

I will be there from about 11:30am onwards and I've reserved dining for about 20 people for about 12:30 onwards although this is still flexible. There is a good sized car park for us to park and access is very easy from the M40 directly into Bishops Tachbrook using the postcode supplied.

I will need to know numbers for seating to eat and also by about a week before I will need to know your menu choices from the website menus that are online

If we can start an attendance list here now that would be great!

Hope to see you all there - those coming will hopefully be the first to hear the latest about next years annual meet as details are now coming together nicely. +++

HPsauce 7th December 2014 05:19 PM

Good choice of venue, but sadly I won't know if we can attend until the previous day. :(
Too many complex family things going on that I have no control over and may reach a peak on 27th or 28th.

Delboy 7th December 2014 10:55 PM

I was hoping to squeeze this meet in but unfortunately I wont be able to attend as I can't come back to the UK till next year. :-(

Ahh….these tax exiles….;)

Singh 8th December 2014 07:47 AM

I need to see what I'm doing that day but my boss is really keen on me taking an Audi down to one of these meets after I last suggested it, he brought the topic up last week. We've got a few brand new D4's on fleet, no S8 or W12 so not sure if it'd be worthwhile or do I just bring the '6? Will have a chat with him when back at work.

P.S We've just taken a lovely W12 D3 in, 'loaded' apparently, but I've not been in to see it yet, was mentioned to me at the Christmas party. I'm off for two weeks!!

moltuae 8th December 2014 09:38 AM

This is one meet I might actually be able to make, though probably not to dine, rather a quick stop off to say hello.

I'm travelling from 'oop norf' to 'darn sarf' that weekend, taking my other half to visit her relatives in Southampton.

Coincidentally we'll be heading back to Bolton, right past that area, on our way home on the 28th, so it'd be rude not to call in. I'm not sure what time It'll be, but I would guess around 12-1pm, all being well.

ainarssems 8th December 2014 10:21 AM

1. Architex mA8tey
2. Ainarssems, most likely alone, arrive around 11:30, depart around 3pm, no need to reserve anything from menu, will just take something on the day from whats available.

By all means bring along a D4 Amar, I think there'd be plenty that would like to see one - especially if your bosses are offering to "sponsor" the meeting by sending along a few Audi Freebies! :D

I am very tempted, especially if Amar brings along a D4 or the RS6 of course.
But its so far!
No need to book for me, I may turn up if I can overcome my lazyness but wont be eating.
