Everyday Is A School Day

As the saying goes.
If it is, we all must have learnt something today?

I learnt that I've been locking my car wrong.
past cars was single press to lock, double press to lock and activate deadlocks.
On the 8 its the other way round.

Single press to lock with deadlocks.
Double press and you lock it without the deadlocks.

What have you learnt?

PsYcHe 28th October 2014 11:35 AM

I've just learnt that! :)

Second hand S8 replacement cats are less than 10% of the cost of new ones! (thanks to Goran...+++)

Surely that's only a D3 thing?
I don't think D2's do that?

Glad to help, and thank you for freeing up some space in my house.
I hope those ones last for a lot of miles.

The D2 does not have deadlocks, so yes its a D3/D4 thing.

I've learn that when the rear bumper is wedged on a tow bar put the car in lift mode before driving off.
It will save your bumper, heat shield, spare wheel well bucket and possibly anything else that's attached to it that I can't see right now.

Delboy 11th November 2014 09:41 PM

Oh no that doesn't sound good.

ScottD3 12th November 2014 06:59 AM

Nope.

****ed right off.
It was the last good bumper!!

Delboy 12th November 2014 10:28 AM

Well every cloud and all that, time for a s8 or w12 back bumper apron.

ScottD3 12th November 2014 12:47 PM

That would be nice but since I don't have a S8 or a W12 I feel I it would be a lie to have such a bumper.
But if I did go down that route I'd have to do the complete kit.
I could not do half.

Delboy 12th November 2014 12:51 PM

I have to disagree with you there, the rear bumper on the w12 would not look out of place on any of the a8 range,

The styling subtleties are such that you could easily do it and it wouldn't look out of place.

It was just a thought, hope you get it sorted out

mattylondon 12th November 2014 01:04 PM

I agree with Del on this, and my opinion is that it's a subtle style change rather than making a replica W12. Awhile back I posted some Ukrainian non W12's with this conversion.

M-A8 3rd December 2014 02:02 PM

No, but the few extra inches in the cabin should let you shove it further through the ski hatch ??

Ah haaaa no I dont, my LPG tank is in the spare wheel well under the boot floor so I just use the normal ski hatch!! :p

ScottD3 8th December 2014 06:59 AM

That's assuming you got a ski hatch.

I'd just put it in the wife's car if we had to have a tree but since we don't, no tree...............****e!! she bought a tree!!
