This is what happens when an A8 meets with Peugeot 106

...and now I'm having to slum it in a 7 series for the next two weeks until Audi repair mine

Ouch indeed. :(

Now, you are on the correct side of the road and the Peugot is on the incorrect side - is this a clue as to what happened?

Hairpin bend, young lad in Pug took it too fast and on my side of the road, I saw him and was stopped when he hit me. Luckily he put his hands up and admitted full liability and his insurance are paying all the repairs, hire car and loss of earnings and I don't even have to go through my own insurance company to fight it...

New wing, bumper, foglight, radiator grill, foglight grill, bumper trim and various other small parts. My guess is the total damage and losses will exceed £8k

Ouch, but how's the 7?

I'm sure with your talents, it'll buff right out :)

Even my talents aren't enough to buff this one out, it's going into Audi Hillington next Wednesday to be repaired, hence the reason for lots of brand new parts +++

Spent a couple of hours prepping the BMW so at least it looks better than it did when it arrived. Having said that it was driven up from Birmingham yesterday in atrocious weather.

I don't know about D3 but on the D2 the reason they were so expensive to repair or written off so quickly was because there were very few authorised repairers that could work on them and because of the cars all aluminium construction, after a front end collision the engine had to be removed so that the bulkhead can be inspected for cracks.

Early days yet as Audi have assured me it will be thoroughly inspected once the damaged panels are removed, so in theory it is possible it could be written off, although I doubt it as it was a low speed collision. Time will tell
