How faults are shown and what they actually are.
 

As most of you know an ACC install is happening over the next few days.

So not ever having an ACC car much less an 8 with it I had no idea what works with what and what has to be done in order for it too work.

The biggest thing that was bugging me was despite having the ACC comaptible gateway and distance stalk fitted to the car with various errors due to the radar not having comms was that the control head in the car refused to display the menu for adaptive cruise.

That along with the fact the when it reboots it shows an S6 logo "weird" is it just my car?

So today after having made a loom last night for the radar sensor I wanted to test the radar supplied by Dave at A8 parts :D before tearing the front off and actually fitting it and see if it worked and what else in the car worked or still complained.

Prior to fitting the radar there was no end of faults logged because i had coded all the modules for ACC but radar was still missing.

Happily once i connected the radar to the gateway and supplied power it immediately was apparent in the menu because adaptive cruise appeared at the top of the list :D

Anyway i digress, once the radar was in place i cleared all the codes to see what was remaining and needed attention see attachments

I then disconnected the radar and scanned again and you can see a whole host of errors that exist because comms to the radar is missing.

There is also a fault logged for left hand headlight saying no signal, that was because i had the fuse out.

The airbag fault was because the glovebox was removed.
