Soft Close Motor

Need a soft close motor for drivers door on 2006 S8, are the motors for all doors the same part number?

Also any idea of cost from dealer?

Cheers

Have you tried the forum's sponsors mate?

Concept 29th August 2015 02:10 PM

Yeah, more expensive than eBay by quite a way.

Johnmed 29th August 2015 02:19 PM

Ah.

I'm sure someone will be along soon to help more than I can. My 8 doesn't even have them.

I don't understand this, as I get, they, as does everyone else has to make money in there business or job, they have over heads and all the associated bills of running a business but their prices are really really inflated, they have an A8L interior with ventilation and tables for the rear passengers and its up for a fair old whack, I understand why as who else is selling one? Or sit down when you try to buy it from Audi themselves, but some of the other stuff has a really big price, I'd like to support the people that run this forum by buying from themselves but they don't make it easy, some stuff iv come across hasn't been too bad and I think I have purchased from prestige in the past but some stuff is really high, some stuff I have come across has been more expensive than buying new?!? But I honestly can't recall what it was now.

Does their parts come with a warranty? As that would also be understandable.

Sorry for taking this thread off topic.

The funny thing is, I was quoted £70 by email, but they have them on eBay for £56.79.

There are others on eBay for £35.

As a Junior memebr of about 3 days I dont really have much say about things but just to put my 2 pennies in.

There are a couple of things that i need on my niggle list and have been looking through ebay for parts, Some of the ones I need are from the sponsor and are on sale. About 50% off what they normally are according to the ad.

This has brought some bits in line with what others on ebay are selling for so I would be happy paying a few more quid to get it from the sponsors account rather than nobody (sorry nobody as you are prob members on here anyway lol). Keeps everything running smoothly.

If there was a big difference in the price I think the first thing I would do is ring them and explain I am a member and the same product is available for less and can they do something for me.

There may be circumstances why the part is more exspensive i.e it has actually been tested and if there is a problem you have a quick resolve rather than the 2 week ebay returns bull. Plus chances are if you need a part you do actually need it and cant wait 2 weeks to get your money back to go to the sponsor and buy it anyway lol.

Obviously for some unique parts you are going to pay more..... thats business but a little discount for forum members would be nice. Im sure there are a lot of users on here who would not mind paying a donation for such a membership, I have been with a lot of forums over the years that do that.

Once again I dont want to offend by sticking my nose in as a newbie but I have been around forums a long time.

PS this more of a banter post ..... sorry for hijacking thread

Yes I agree but I don't have gallons of time to be phoning up or sending emails off to people trying to lower the price, I search for a part, find it at a decent price, then pay for it to be delivered.

It's not a prestige bashing thread and I'd like it not to be perceived in that light too, just an observation/question, if it works for them and they make there bread and butter from it then that's fine, no one has forced me to buy stuff from them, I have the same problem of trying to make people understand I need to make money too and can't do things at cost, so like I said its not a hate thread towards them +++
